Sneak peek inside Rowan Wood 👀🏫

Join Cllr Anthony Okereke and Cllr Tom Creswell for a behind-the-scenes preview tour of our brand-new secondary SEND school, welcoming pupils aged 11 to 19 with autism and complex needs. 💙

The school offers...
✨advanced teaching spaces
✨sensory rooms
✨library
✨dedicated sixth form area
✨outdoor sports facilities designed to help young people learn, develop and thrive.

But we’re not stopping there. We’re also investing to build:

✅ a new SEND primary school at a former primary school site in Plumstead
✅ a new multi-use SEND transitional learning centre for young adults in Eltham

With demand for specialist support at an all-time high, this record investment will help more children, young people and families access the support they need, closer to home.

Today marks five years since the murder of Sabina Nessa. Our thoughts are with Sabina’s family and friends during this difficult time.

This horrific act of male aggression is a dark day in our borough's history and serves as a reminder of the work we must all do to end male violence against women.

Woolwich Carnival 2026 brought the best of our borough's culture and community spirit.

Help us improve private rented housing in Royal Greenwich. 🏠

We're consulting on our proposal to expand our selective licensing scheme on private rented properties.

Selective licensing means landlords renting a property to one household need a licence to make sure their property is safe, secure and well-maintained.

At the moment our selective licensing scheme covers five wards across the borough, and we’re proposing a new scheme which will cover up to 18 wards.

💷 New figures show we've stayed within our borrowing limits while managing to deliver new council homes, better schools, improved roads and cutting-edge facilities like Woolwich Waves. Despite having to make £150m in savings over 14 years, sound financial management is helping us build a stronger Greenwich for the future.

Your feedback will help us understand what services and support are working well and what improvements are needed.

There are plenty of online and in-person sessions for you to get involved in. See the links in our comments to sign up.

🪑 Public drop-in: 19 September, 11am to 3pm, The Greenwich Centre

Come sit and relax in this welcoming space, and share a soft drink and snack. Make connections, chat about your neurodivergent experiences, or simply be alongside others.

💻 Adult experience online panel

Monday 28 September, 2pm to 3pm and Tuesday 6 October 6pm to 8pm, online

These online sessions are for neurodivergent adults. You can share what good support looks like, what's working and what could be improved.

❤️Carers experience online sharing panel

Tuesday 29 September, 10am to 12noon and Wednesday 30 September, 6pm to 6pm, online

These online sessions are for people who care for neurodivergent children or adults. Come by to share about your experiences, challenges and more.

We’re proud to appoint His Honour Judge Andrew Lees as Honorary Recorder for the Royal Borough of Greenwich. ⚖️

As the Senior Circuit Judge and Resident Judge at Woolwich Crown Court, Judge Lees will help us maintain our longstanding relationship with the judiciary and strengthen its connection with local communities.

Congratulations to Judge Lees on this important ceremonial appointment. We look forward to welcoming him to civic events across the borough.
