Fusiliers on the Run 🏃‍♂️🏅

This week, the Battalion Running Team competed at the Armed Forces Inter-Service & Corps 10km Championships in Nottingham.

Competing in the new Fusilier Running Team kit, runners also represented their respective Corps, with Sgt Sophie Smith securing Gold with the RAMS Female Senior Team.

There were strong performances across the team, including LCpl Hodor, who finished 2nd among AGC runners.

Infantry results:
🥈 CSgt Urwin — 10th overall, 2nd Veteran
• Fus Gardiner — 11th
• LCpl Hill — 12th
• Fus Calderwood — 13th

Next up is the Newcastle Half Marathon on 12 July, where the team hopes to field a combined 1 RRF and 5 RRF entry.

Strong performances, strong turnout, and plenty more miles ahead.

Fusiliers take the win 🏆

The Iron Fist Challenge within 20X proved to be an outstanding event, strengthening teamwork, morale, and camaraderie across the wider AGC family through a series of demanding competitions.

The First Fusiliers Detachment emerged as the overall winners among all participating detachments — continuing strong form following the previous competition hosted by QRH on 20 May 2025, where the Fusiliers Detachment placed 1st across all events in the BAWF competition.

A great result built on teamwork, professionalism, and competitive spirit.

Building the Next Generation of Recce Soldiers 🧭⚔️

The 1 RRF Recce Cadre has concluded at Longmoor Training Area, qualifying 13 soldiers as light reconnaissance patrolman.

The cadre covered core recce fundamentals including fieldcraft, navigation, AFV recognition, CTRs, OPs, counter-UAS SOPs, contact drills, and a summative FTX — building the foundation required to operate forward, unseen, and informed.

The course also included members of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, strengthening links and sharing experience across both regiments.

Strong effort from all involved and congratulations to those who passed.

Fusiliers on the Trails 🚵‍♂️🏅

A strong day for the Battalion Mountain Bike Team at the Army Cycle Enduro Series (ACES).

🏆 CPL Mason secured 2nd place in the Hardtail category, while
🥇 CPL Currie took 1st place in the Women’s category.

Outstanding results and excellent representation for the Regiment.

1 RRF Cross Country 🏃‍♀️

The Battalion Cross Country Team competed at the Army Inter-Unit 10km Championships at Thruxton Race Circuit, Andover.

The 1 RRF Women’s Team secured Silver in a highly competitive field — made up of a mix of cap badges across the Battalion, showing strong teamwork in representing 1 RRF.
