News for Chadderton

I am delighted to announce Cllr Rob Jackson has been accepted onto the board for "Chaddeton Together", also known as "Chaddeton Pride in place".
This is a committee that takes charge of 20 million pounds of investment into Chadderton over the next 10 years. I am sure we will be able to work together, with other board members and councillors, to deliver some outstanding projects for Chadderton in the near future.

We are regenerating Granby Street playing fields in South Chadderton.

This is a personal project of mine being close to the area and also wanting to get more sports and activities played at the site.

As a new councillor I want to get projects that would have been shelved, back in front of our planning executives for development.

Our litter picking action day on asunday was a great success. We cleared a lot of areas and had some help from our very own "Dont Trash Oldham" campaigner, young Thomas Stewart, he happy to tell the people of Chadderton about his work.

We must stress that this is a voluntary service and is aimed at creating more of a community in our local area, with more people turning up to offer a hand, in turn, we can come and clear alleyways, greenery and walkways with you.

Lots of fly tipping seen today and cleaned up by myself and the volunteers from South Chadderton.

We continue to do this to try and keep awareness about the issues we face.

Anyone fly tipping or dumping any rubbish near or around South Chadderton, including next to bins and other places we have to pick it up from. Report them or message us directly.

Notification for m60 clpusre.

National Highways will be closing sections of the M60 between Junctions 17 and 18 this weekend as part of the ongoing Simister Island Interchange improvement scheme.

Following the significant congestion experienced during the previous closure, residents may wish to plan journeys in advance and allow extra travel time where possible.

Closure details:
M60 anticlockwise (westbound) from Junction 18 to Junction 17: 10pm Saturday 10th October to 6am Monday 12th October.
M60 clockwise (eastbound) from Junction 17 to Junction 18: 11.59pm Saturday 10th October to 6am Monday 12th October.

We are organising a South Chadderton "Clean Up" next Sunday to bring community awareness regarding fly tipping, rubbish and better maintenance around our walk ways and greenary.

Anyone can come and join in, please come and meet the volunteers as well as myself, Sunday, 10am at the top of Turf Lane where it meets Drury Lane.

Our Community champions will be out and other volunteers who care about out South Chadderton Community.

We look forward to seeing you, so many ask to get involved but do not see when we post these clean up days.

Wetherspoons is looking for new pub locations.
I have suggested the Whitegate Inn on Broadway as it has an existing site with hotel attached.
It has good transport links to Manchester and the M60 and a strong potential customer base.

Once again more fly tipping in the Elizabeth ave area of South Chadderton, We are trying to work with FCHO to get a gate lock and also cctv.
