Savick Library Story time. A weekly story reading session for pre-school children. Every Tuesday (10:30am to 11:00am) between 27/01/2026 and 19/01/2027. All pre-school children and their parents or carers are welcome to join us. We'll be reading from the best and brightest and most funny picture books in the library for your kids to enjoy and to inspire them to find books and reading fun.

The last of our free summer holiday sessions for children took place yesterday ... and what a lovely session it was. The children had such fun thanks to Helen Dewhurst and her Little Superheroes. A big thank you, too, to Carly Lou of Bird Productions - Social Media Marketing & Coach for the fabulous video of the event. Keep yours eyes peeled for news of our October half term event!

Lancashire Library Service have told us that Savick Library will be closed from 5pm today, Wednesday 19 August, due to a lack of available staff. The nearest libraries open this evening are:

Fulwood library, 294 Garstang Road, Fulwood, Preston, PR2 9RX (9am to 7pm)
Lostock Hall library, Watkin Lane, Lostock Hall, PR5 5TU (9am to 7pm)
Ribbleton library, Ribbleton Hall Drive, Ribbleton, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 6EE (9am to 6pm)

Savick Library will also be closed on Saturday 22 August due to lack of available staff. The nearest libraries open on Saturday will be:

The Harris library, Lancaster Rd, Preston PR1 2PP (9am to 5pm)
Ingol library, Ventnor Place, Ingol, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 3YX (9am to 1pm)
Ribbleton library, Ribbleton Hall Drive, Ribbleton, Preston, Lancashire, PR2 6EE (9am to 1pm)
