On Friday 16th October, the library held its ever-popular annual Quiz Night at the Village Hall. With all tickets snapped up in advance, around 80 eager quizzers gathered for an evening of brain-teasing fun. The fiendish questions kept teams on their toes as they enjoyed a hearty dinner and their favourite tipple in great company.

New Books! 📚
The library have just added to the children's library stock a new copy of an old favourite, 'Handa's Surprise'. Many children will know and love the Handa's Hen series. Publishers have virtually stopped printing the very large children's books, as reading habits have changed, but we have managed to replace one of ours. We hope it will remain as popular.
Other new books in the children's library include two Christmas ones in anticipation of the coming season.
If you, or your children, don't yet have a library card, now is the perfect time to sign up - it's free, and pre-school children can also have their own cards. Come and collect a form from the library.
The library is open until 9:30am - 3pm on Fridays, and 9:30am - 1pm on Saturdays. See our profile page for full opening hours.

The 2026 Annual General Meeting of Farnham Common Community Library will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday 10th October, and following the formal AGM, we will celebrate this important anniversary with tea and cake.

Join us for a “bit of fun” social evening hosted by our popular Quizmasters. Make up a team of up to 8 with your friends, family or neighbours and bring along your thinking caps. Or book in pairs or singles, and we will put you into a team.
Lasagne, garlic bread and salad is included in the price. Please bring your own w**e, b**r, soft drinks etc. nibbles and glasses.
Also don’t forget to bring a £1 for the ‘Heads & Tails’ game.
Friends of FCCL: £18.00 per person (with up-to-date subscriptions)
Non-Friends: £20.00 per person

A reminder that our new Story and Singing Class returns next week!
Join us at the library on Thursday 8th October at 10am for a 40 minute story
and singing class suitable for all ages. There will be a French element each week where you can begin to learn simple French words and learn simple French
songs.
Lots of puppets, musical instruments and parachute play. Enjoy two stories each week, songs themed to the stories and lots of fun!

A remarkable and little‑known chapter of WW2 is finally emerging from the shadows.
