In 2023, you placed your trust in me as well as Councillor Vicky Wheeldon Cheadle South East, Councillor Mike Haines and Liz Whitehouse to deliver for Cheadle.

We made Cheadle a core focus of the SMDC Labour administration, from bringing the Market Hall and Leisure Centre back into public ownership and the regeneration of both, to managing the day to day services I'm proud of the work we've done.

When we were elected we didn't expect to be the last administration of SMDC and I'm pleased that Cheadle features so prominently in the Legacy Plan.

We've set out our plans for what we're focusing on in the Moorlands to ensure we're taking a positive and lasting legacy to the new North Staffordshire Council.

The District Council will be abolished in March 2028 so, before we go, we're aiming to deliver a whole range of actions across the themes of Growth, Service Improvement and Preparation for Local Government Reorganisation, Efficiency, and Locality.

What a cracking day at Party in the Park supporting The Oak Project and Claire's Community Pantry - Cheadle Staffs.

We've had so many positive conversations, raised some funds and it's great to see a community come together and enjoy the glorious weather.

Really wonderful day, thank you to all those on Cheadle Town Council who have organised and the volunteers who make the day run so smoothly.

​They keep our high streets alive and give our rural communities a place to connect.

​That’s why we’re thrilled the Labour Government has announced a 20% cut to business rates for pubs and social clubs.

​PM Andy Burnham said it best: "I said I would protect pubs and local high streets... and that’s what we will do. What we’re announcing today is just the start as we work to bring back hope across the country"
