Freedom Fostering We are a Fostering Agency based in Wolverhampton, founded in 2002.

Freedom Fostering Limited is an independent Fostering Agency, established since 2002 and based in Wolverhampton. The company was formed in order to deliver a service for children based on the principles of high quality foster care and effective support systems. Over the years Freedom Fostering Limited have sought to develop our services by recruiting and training foster carers who reflect the aims and beliefs of the founding directors; along with Fostering Network, we believe that all children and young people needing substitute care, whatever their physical or mental abilities, should have the opportunity to live in a family. Children and young people of any background who are fostered deserve the highest standards of care, and it is the responsibility of all those involved to deliver a high quality service. We provide training services to help new foster carers develop the skills they need to become a qualified carer; training occurs every six months for six sessions, to ensure carers are kept up-to-date with current legislation and to refresh essential skills required to foster. We cover a wide spectrum of central England - our main areas include:

• Wolverhampton
• Staffordshire
• Birmingham
• Telford
• Milton Keynes
• Shropshire
• Solihull
• Walsall

Following our last Ofsted Report we take pride in saying that we constantly receive exceptional results, and we strive to continue to
receive these results. Our staff and managers are extremely passionate about giving foster children the very best care available, and if you share our beliefs we would love you to help us achieve our dream. Give us a call to ask about fostering a child you could make a huge difference to a child's or young person's life.

World Su***de Prevention Day - September 10th, raises global awareness that su***de can be prevented and to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.

International Association for Su***de Prevention, established in 2003 by the International Association for Su***de Prevention (IASP) in conjunction with the World Health Organization (WHO), the day serves several vital purposes:

Core Objectives
Breaking the Stigma: It transforms the often-taboo subject of su***de into an open, compassionate topic of conversation, helping people feel more comfortable seeking or offering help.

Promoting Action: It encourages governments, organizations, and individuals to commit to effective su***de prevention policies, improve mental health care access, and support vulnerable communities.

Spreading Hope: Global campaigns—such as the 2024–2026 theme, "Changing the Narrative on Su***de"—urge people to share resources, check in on others, and build supportive, understanding societies.

Should you have any thoughts or feelings of su***de, please see link for available services and support who can be contacted for help:

International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), every 31st August, brings a global community together to take action on overdose!

This year the theme for IOAD is 25 Years On. Still Needed.

For 25 years, International Overdose Awareness Day has brought people together to remember those we’ve lost and to take action to save lives.

The truth is, we shouldn’t still need this day. But we do.

Overdose continues to affect every community. Yet it can be prevented. We know how to reduce risk and keep people safe. By speaking openly, learning from one another, and treating each other with care and respect, we build a world where fewer lives are lost.

Because while this day is still needed, it doesn’t have to be forever! 💙

International Overdose Awareness Day - 31/08/2026

IOAD connects to fostering through the vital role foster parents and caregivers play in supporting children and youth impacted by parental substance use, trauma, and the broader opioid and toxic drug crisis.

The Intersection of Overdose Awareness and Fostering.

Impact on Children:
Many children enter the foster care system because parental substance use or accidental overdose has destabilized their home environment. Caregivers often support children dealing with profound grief, loss, or trauma related to these family crises.

Caregiver Preparedness: Foster parents need education on substance use, harm reduction, and emergency responses. Recognizing signs of distress or accidental poisoning—and knowing how to use rescue medications like naloxone—is a critical safety skill in modern caregiving.

Reducing Stigma: International Overdose Awareness Day emphasizes ending the shame and stigma surrounding drug use. For foster families, practicing this compassion helps young people process their experiences openly without fear of judgment.

Trauma-Informed Support: Acknowledging the day allows foster families to honor complex emotions, support recovery, and foster safe spaces for youth affected by substance-related loss.

To learn more about global initiatives or find educational toolkits, you can visit the official International Overdose Awareness Day website or speak to your Supervising Social Worker who can provide support during this time around this topic.
