Yesterday I met with the Leader of Worcester City Council, together with representatives from Lyppard Hub, to discuss the future of one of Worcester’s most valued community assets.

Anyone who has visited Lyppard Hub will know just how much happens there. From toddler groups and youth activities to warm spaces, social groups and support for older residents, the Hub plays a vital role in bringing people together and tackling loneliness and isolation.

As we move towards Local Government Reorganisation, I believe it is more important than ever that we have honest conversations about the long-term future of community centres and the role they play in supporting our communities.

I am passionate about ensuring that Lyppard Hub continues its great work long into the future. While funding for the Hub has been protected in the current budget, we cannot be complacent. The decisions made over the coming years will shape the future of community provision in Worcester for decades to come.

I will continue to make the case for Lyppard Hub, not just because of the building itself, but because of the difference it makes to the lives of the thousands of people who use it every year.
