What is happening in Worksop Library this week:

🎶 Monday - Rattle, Rhyme and Roll on at 10:00am for parents/carers and under s.
👶 Wednesday - Toddler Time at 10.00am for parents/carers and under 5's enjoy some songs, rhymes and parachute games.
🌳Thursday we have our Family History Group, come along between 4pm and 6pm upstairs in the library to search your own history with a friendly group of people. maybe pick up the odd tip!
🔎 Friday it is the Library Murder Club, come along for some chat about crime books and a cuppa, we don't have a set book just a passion for murderous tales!
🧶Saturday at 2pm we have our Family Saturday Club which this week is the turn of the Knit or Knot Club.

When you visit us why not pop in and treat yourself to something from Jeanilious at The coffee terrace. We cannot wait to warmly welcome you to the Library this week, and tempt you with some Summer reading fingers crossed we get some sunshine this week!

Two weeks to go until the Summer Reading Challenge 2026 arrives in Nottinghamshire libraries! 🤩

Get ready to Read to the Beat and make this summer one full of stories, imagination and plenty of reading fun 🎵 From Saturday 4 July, children aged 4–11 can join the challenge for FREE at their local Inspire library and start working towards their reading goals, rewards, medal and certificate 🏅

Now’s the perfect time to start thinking about what your child might enjoy reading this summer. Whether they’re into adventures, laugh-out-loud joke books, fascinating facts, comics, poetry or listening to stories on the go, every page (and every eBook!) counts towards the challenge.

Whether your child is already a bookworm or you’re hoping to keep reading going over the holidays, the Summer Reading Challenge is a fun way to inspire confidence, spark imagination and make reading part of your summer adventures.

Created to celebrate the National Year of Reading and Inspire’s 10th birthday, Inspire’s Favourite Reads brings together books chosen by our staff alongside some of our most-loved and most-borrowed titles from the last decade. From modern favourites and award winners to timeless classics and hidden gems, the shortlist celebrates the books that have inspired readers across Nottinghamshire. Now we need your help to choose the final Top 10:

Before the Inspire’s Favourite Reads shortlist is unveiled this Saturday (just in time for Lowdham Book Festival!) why not explore the longlist and see how many you’ve read? 👀

Created from titles recommended by our staff and books that have been especially loved by readers across our libraries, the longlist is packed with favourites across every genre. Summer Reading Challenge 2026: Read to the Beat is landing in Nottinghamshire libraries very soon! 🤩📖

From Saturday 4 July, children aged 4–11 can join the challenge for FREE at their local Inspire library and set off on a summer filled with stories, surprises and fun.

Here’s how the challenge works:
🎟️ Sign up for FREE and collect your starter pack
⭐ Help your little one set their own reading goals
📚 Help choose books they actually want to read (stories, comics, facts, jokes, poetry - it all counts!)
🎉 Collect stickers and rewards along the way
🏅 Complete 6 reading goals to earn a medal and certificate!

This year's theme Read to the Beat encourages readers to explore music and sound too - which means our talking books and eAudio could be the perfect playlist to your summer adventures. Whether your child already loves books or just needs a little summer motivation, the Summer Reading Challenge 2026: Read to the Beat is all about making reading fun, building confidence and keeping young minds inspired over the holidays.
