Volunteers wanted! 📢

We're looking for friendly volunteers to support learners attending our Maths Functional Skills course at Worksop Library by providing encouragement, practical assistance, and guidance during the sessions. As a volunteer you will help create a positive learning environment that enables participants to develop their essential maths skills and confidence in using numbers. You'll provide one-to-one and small group support during activities, encourage learner participation, and support tutors in preparing learning materials and equipment.

As a volunteer you'll be assisting learners with basic maths tasks such as:

💯Number work using calculations, decimals, percentages, fractions and ratios.
🔷Shape
📐Measures
📊Handling data such as graphs and working with probability

Wondering what to do this half term? How about a fantastic session with author and illustrator Bethan Woollvin. Children love meeting authors and this hands on event is ideal for children aged 4-7. Join us on the 22 October at 2:30pm.

This exciting workshop is based on her book These Are My Rocks, which is all about the joy of collecting things. Learn about strange collections and oddities and from around the world, and hear Bethan read These are my Rocks. Then get stuck into an exciting craft activity, where you'll bring a collection of your very own to life!

Children's tickets are priced at £3 and accompanying adults are free, you will need to secure your place by booking via the link below ⬇

Read all about it 📢 Worksop Library became a Fun Palace for the day! 🎉

On Saturday 3 October, Worksop Library hosted its ninth Fun Palace event, with FREE drop-in activities designed to encourage people of all ages to engage with arts, science and culture. 😍

The day was also filled with music, which included performances from Langold Dyscarr School Choir, Inspire's Red Hot Band, and Dukeries Ukeries Ukulele Band.🎶

We even had special alien visitors this year, thanks to funding from Pride in Place. 👽🛸

Does your little one love collecting rocks, shells, stickers or other special treasures? 🎨🐚

Join award-winning author and illustrator Bethan Woollvin this half-term for a fun-filled session inspired by her book These Are My Rocks! Enjoy a lively storytime, discover oddities from around the world, and get stuck into a fun craft activity too. Suitable for budding collectors aged 4–7 🌟

You may have seen on Facebook our promotions for Saturday Family Clubs and wondered what they are.

Each Saturday we have a club designed for families to enjoy activities together. There are 3 different themes, Games, Lego and Knit or Knot. This week it is the turn of Lego and next week will be Games and they roll round in a pattern.

Games as you would expect are family games you can enjoy, some simple board games and some more active games, occasionally we get the giant games. Lego, is fun for everyone with a challenge or a theme to build. Knit or Knot is making something with yarn, using all kinds of skills.

You don't book the clubs just come along to the children's area of the library between 2pm and 3pm. They run all year long unless we have a big event on and we will warn you when this happens.
