Today, Hon. Minister Rohey John-Manjang joined Gambian children for the second edition of the Special MansaKunda, creating space for an open dialogue on climate change, environmental protection, and the future they want to see.

The children shared their concerns about environmental challenges affecting their communities and raised important questions about how their voices can be included in decisions that shape their future.

Responding to their concerns, the Hon. Minister emphasized that protecting children from environmental challenges also means ensuring that they are part of decision-making processes.

She highlighted that the implementing regulations of the Climate Change Act will constitute a Youth Climate Change Council, which will provide young people with a platform to contribute to climate policy and provide policy direction on issues affecting their future.

Their questions, ideas, and concerns matter. Giving children a voice today means helping them shape the safer, healthier environment they will inherit tomorrow.đź’š

Seeing progress firsthand is one of the best ways to measure impact.

We recently concluded our second quarterly project monitoring mission, visiting ongoing project sites and engaging with beneficiaries, local communities, and implementing partners to see firsthand how our interventions are making a difference.

Led by Hon. Minister Rohey John Manjang, the mission provided an opportunity to assess implementation progress, celebrate achievements, identify challenges, and explore practical solutions to further strengthen project delivery and maximize impact.

Our commitment remains focused on ensuring that climate resilience and sustainable development initiatives create lasting, positive change for communities across The Gambia.
