The press conference will provide an update on the party’s position regarding the Coalition 2026 discussions and other matters of national interest.

UDP Welcomes IEC’s Extension of the Appeals and Objections Period

The United Democratic Party (UDP) wishes to inform the general public, party supporters, and all stakeholders that following the constructive engagement between the UDP leadership and the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), the Commission has officially extended the deadline for the receipt of appeals and objections relating to the 2026 Supplementary Voter Registration exercise.

According to the IEC Press Release dated 21st July 2026, the deadline has now been extended to 27th July 2026, after which Revising Courts will be established to hear and determine all appeals and objections.

The UDP welcomes this development as a positive step towards strengthening the transparency, integrity, and credibility of the electoral process. We encourage all party members, supporters, and the general public to make full use of this extended period by submitting any suspected cases of ineligible registrations or other legitimate objections through the appropriate official party channels/officials.

The UDP remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the voter register and ensuring that the 2026 presidential election is conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner.
