The Active Travel Section of Mayo County Council is preparing a Transport Study for Crossmolina and your comments are welcome.


To view the documents along with details on how to have your say are set out in the attached newspaper notice or via https://consult.mayo.ie with effect from 26th May 2026.

Summary of Objective of the Transport Study:-

The main objective of Crossmolina Transport Study is to meet the mobility needs of people and businesses in and around Crossmolina Town.

The Study will introduce measures relating to how people move around the town and will include street design, public transport and safer walking and cycling infrastructure.

Implementing the measures identified in the study creates potential to foster a vibrant Town Centre by improving public spaces and modal connectivity.

The development of a Transport Study for Crossmolina creates a gateway for funding allowing implementation of the identified measures.

On the evening of the 15th of April 2026 following the Mass and Bell Ringing Ceremony we will adjourn to Murphyโ€™s Pub next door for a cup of tea while we listen to a short poetry reading session and a song or two together with some traditional/local music.

The Poets who will be in attendance are among a group of Poets who have compiled a Book of poems entitled Unsinkable: Poems Inspired by the Titanic. Sandra Yannone one of the main editors will be in attendance. This is the first - of -its- kind Titanic poetry anthology. Copies of the Book will be on sale, followed by signing by Authors.

We the members of Addergoole Titanic Society are delighted to host this special visit in Lahardane. All are welcome.
