Thank you to everyone, from home and abroad, who purchased our Heritage Week booklets for charity. After 100 titles over the past decade, we're winding down. Hope you've enjoyed any you've read this year, or over previous years, and well done to all those Volunteers who make Heritage Week so special every year. 👏

A big thank you to everyone who supported our Heritage Week Day 1 event, “Pastimes from the Past: Keeping Our Heritage Alive”.

A special thank you to Galway County Heritage Officer Marie Mannion for joining us and launching our book, “Remembering the Clubs, Pastimes and Community Events of Kiltullagh-Killimordaly”.

Thank you also to our presenters Majella O’Dea, Steve Dolan, Martin Curley and Kieran Jordan for their interesting and insightful talks.

We really appreciate everyone who came along and helped make the day a success.

The exhibition will be open again tomorrow in Kiltullagh Community Hall from 11.30am to 5pm. We hope to see you there.

The Wynne Collection of postcards provide an invaluable snapshot of Loughrea town in the early twentieth century. That legacy, and a range of other topics are discussed in 'Loughrea 1926'; one of ten booklets for Heritage Week 2026. The booklet is the last of 100 booklets produced for charity over the last decade.

Among the booklets for the upcoming Heritage Week is one on Taylor and Skinner's road maps of the county in 1777. Other heritage titles this year include those on Galway 'Wild Geese' fighting in battles across the globe, Reports on the Night of the Big Wind in Galway 1839, and one on land leaguer Timothy Dolan.
