From a medieval tower house to the house you see today, Shankill Castle remains a living, evolving place filled with history, art, creativity and daily life.

Artist 's work can be found throughout the house, and we’re delighted to share this special corner of Ireland with visitors who come to explore its history, gardens and stories.

Join a castle tour on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm.

☀️ Sunshine, blossom and a garden in full spring magic ☀️ 🌷
The heritage apple tree arch is starting its spectacular show right now, with the red tulips tulips starting to bloom beneath its branches.
With this beautiful weather set to last through the weekend, there's no better time to wander and explore the gardens.

Make a day of it with delicious refreshments from the food truck and pick up something special from the Shankill Castle Farm Shop to take home.

Spring is springing and the snowdrops are looking wonderful at Shankill! A very welcome sign of spring after all the rain ☔
The gardens are open Saturdays and Sundays in February 11am to 4pm.

🌿✨ As the leaves fall and the days grow shorter, Shankill Castle is closing its gates for the season. ✨🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us this year — whether you wandered through the gardens, explored the castle, enjoyed a treat from the café or farm shop, had something delicious from the food truck, or joined us for an event or workshop. 💚

We’re so grateful for our wonderful community of regulars and first-time visitors alike. Now it’s time for us (and the castle!) to hibernate for the winter — rest, recharge, and dream up what 2026 will bring. 🌙🏰

🌿 New in the Farm Shop! 🌿

We’re delighted to now stock organic lamb from — a regenerative farm overlooking Freshford in Kilkenny, run by the inspiring duo Fintan and Liefe. 🐑💚

At Skehana Hill, the sheep graze on a rich mix of pastures alongside cattle and horses, moving frequently to fresh ground — just as nature intended. This soil-first approach nurtures healthy land, resilient animals and delicious meat. 🌾✨

Now available in the Shankill Castle Farm Shop.

🍂 Only Two Weekends Left to Visit! 🍂

There are just two weeks left to explore Shankill Castle before we close for the season. Wander through the gardens and take a guided tour of the house, featuring the vibrant work of and .

The farm shop and food truck will be open from 11am–5pm, offering plenty of good food and local produce.

We’re open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with our final open day this season on Bank Holiday Monday 27th October.

𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲
Hey-up, hey-up!
As the temperature drops and the days are shorter, the grass growth is slowing and so we're moving our herd of organic Angus cross cattle frequently to make sure they have enough to graze. Luckily they like playing follow the leader!

We're now in our last month of opening for the year, so make sure to visit our farm shop and food truck in the stableyard before the end of the month.

Who stole the pumpkins from the walled garden?
Follow the family-friendly trail through the castle grounds to find clues that point to who took them!

Once you discover the culprit, complete a craft activity and take a pumpkin home!

💚🍎💚 The good news is that means the apples are ready, and Rosie is making her homemade apple tarts with our organic heritage apples! She makes them by hand in small batches using only apples, flour, butter, sugar and egg 💚🍎💚 Available in the farm shop until they run out!
