The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, have redeveloped the Climate Toolkit 4 Business website.

The aim of the redevelopment was to provide SMEs with more practical ways to take climate action, monitor their emissions and track their progress. The redevelopment also includes significant upgrades to the calculator.

What’s New?
• Look and feel
A new look and feel has been implemented which strives to be uncluttered and clean, with readability in mind.
• GHG Scopes
The Carbon Calculator and overview of carbon emissions is now aligned with Green House Gas (GHG) Protocol Scopes - helping SMEs and micro enterprises provide Scope data that may be required by customers, lenders, investors.
• An active climate action resource
Users can now save and view their reports by year in the My Account area and a My Progress feature allows the user to understand and monitor actions and progress year on year.
• Accessibility
Improvements to accessibility have been implemented on the site.
• Irish language
The Toolkit is now available in the Irish Language.

Best of luck to Jakes Kelly of KK Hyraulics Ltd who are finalists in this years National Enterprise Awards, which take place at the Mansion House, Dublin on Thursday 18th June.

KK Hydraulics is a Tralee based family business run by Jakes and William Kelly. The business specialises in the manufacture of recycling equipment for the agricultural sector and has successfully developed export markets in the UK and Iceland. They also supply a range of hydraulic and marine equipment from their store in Tralee.

Speaking about the awards Jakes Kelly said “KK Hydraulics is delighted with the nomination to the National Enterprise awards. Our business has grown steadily in recent years, and we were fortunate to avail of grant support and training from Kerry Local Enterprise Office, which helped us on our journey as we developed new products and expanded into export markets”.

Best of luck to KK Hydraulics Ltd, who will represent Kerry Local Enterprise Office at the prestigious awards that take place on Thursday 18th June in the Round Room at the Mansion House in Dublin.

The Finalists compete for a total prize fund of €80,000 and along with an overall National Enterprise of the Year winner there are categories for Best Start-Up, Best Export Business, an Innovation Award, a Digital Award, a Green Award and a Female Entrepreneur award.

There will also be an Outstanding Achievement Award presented on the night to an Irish business who started with the support of their Local Enterprise Office and has gone on to achieve international success.

The National Enterprise Awards are one of a number of initiatives that the Local Enterprise Offices run, to foster entrepreneurship across the country.
