Intel just agreed to acquire Classiq Technologies for a reported $2.2 billion. The largest Israeli tech acquisition since Mobileye in 2017.

Classiq was founded in Israel and developed a quantum software platform that lets developers build quantum applications without needing deep expertise in circuit design.

The deal reflects something consistent about where Israel’s competitive advantage sits in the quantum race. Israel is building the software, tools, and infrastructure layers that make quantum computing usable at scale, and that is where some of the most consequential work is happening.

Israel’s quantum ecosystem now has its first major landmark exit. The companies currently developing the next layer of that ecosystem are watching closely.

We are proud to have supported Classiq in its early stages and this is exactly the kind of outcome that early-stage investment in deep tech is meant to enable.

Developing a treatment for a rare mitochondrial disease and making sure a hospital’s equipment is where it needs to be sound like completely unrelated problems. What connects them is that neither gets solved without the right clinical partner.

Minovia is developing a treatment that introduces healthy mitochondria into damaged cells, targeting rare diseases that currently have no effective therapies. A research partnership with Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin is helping the company understand the cellular mechanics behind the treatment, the kind of foundational work that determines whether a promising approach becomes a viable one.

QLOG - simply manage helps hospitals track and manage essential medical equipment, cutting the administrative burden on clinical teams and improving operational readiness. A collaboration with The University of Manchester within the UK’s NHS gave the company the scale and complexity it needed to refine the system for large healthcare environments.

The problems are different. The need for deep clinical collaboration is the same. Both companies are part of the Authority’s International Collaboration program, which connects Israeli companies with leading medical institutions worldwide.

Israel's Quantum Ecosystem Is Punching Above Its Weight

Israel is rapidly emerging as a global quantum innovation hub, transforming world-class scientific excellence into groundbreaking technologies, thriving startups, and international investment opportunities.

A new report by the Israel Innovation Authority and C4IR Israel reveals the remarkable momentum behind Israel's quantum ecosystem:

- Nearly $500 million raised by Israeli quantum companies in 2025 alone.
- 4th worldwide in private quantum investment, accounting for approximately 9% of global investment.
- Over $1 billion in cumulative private capital raised.
- More than 20 active quantum companies, up from just five in 2019.

But Israel's competitive edge goes far beyond the numbers.
Its highly connected innovation ecosystem brings together cutting-edge academic research, entrepreneurs, investors, advanced infrastructure, and sophisticated early adopters. With particular strengths in quantum software, algorithms, control systems, sensing, and enabling technologies, Israeli companies are positioning themselves as key players in the global quantum value chain.

As the quantum economy takes shape, Israel's strategy is clear: focus on technological strengths, accelerate commercialization, and deepen international partnerships.

In a technology that demands global collaboration, Israel offers something powerful: focused expertise, an interconnected ecosystem, and the ability to turn research into impact. From pioneering research to commercial deployment, Israel is helping bridge the gap between quantum potential and real-world impact.

Chocolate without cocoa trees. It sounds like a workaround. It’s actually a response to a genuine supply crisis.

Climate change is putting cocoa production under serious pressure. Israeli FoodTech company Kokomodo is developing a different approach by using plant cell cultivation to grow real cocoa in controlled environments without relying on traditional plantations.

Through COCO-AI, a HORIZON Europe project awarded approximately €5.5 million in EU funding and coordinated by ISERD - Israel-Europe R&D Directorate, Israel’s focal point for European research and innovation programs, Kokomodo is working alongside fellow Israeli company Celleste Bio and an international consortium led by Germany’s Fraunhofer HHI. Together, they are building an AI-powered platform to optimize plant cell cultivation and scale it from lab to industrial production.

This is the first episode of our new video series, "Changing the Game," stories of Israeli innovation and international collaboration reshaping industries.

250 American researchers, investors, and tech professionals landed in Israel this week. Not for a conference, but to see the innovation ecosystem up close.

The Project Flytech delegation is here for a firsthand look at what’s being built in Israel and where the opportunities for collaboration are. This week included a panel with ZutaCore and Bariks Health, two Israeli companies that shared their work, their technology, and the real challenges of building in this space.

We’re hosting a full day of company visits and meetings. The kind of direct connections between American investors and Israeli innovators that tend to lead to conversations that turn into partnerships.

What’s next for AI in 2027?

Dr. Assaf Horowitz, VP of AI at the Innovation Authority, joined industry leaders at the Lynx Events Future of AI 2026 conference for a panel on “The Next 12 Months of AI.”

One of the key points he raised was the importance of thinking critically when using AI. Rather than accepting its outputs at face value, users should challenge its responses and use it as a tool to strengthen their own thinking and problem-solving skills.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives and workplaces, developing the skills to use it effectively is just as important as advancing the technology itself.

Israel’s tech sector raised $8.2 billion in 2025. R&D spending reached 5.6% of GDP, the highest ratio among OECD nations. Cybersecurity exports hit $17.5 billion. AI startups are on track to represent 35% of all new Israeli tech ventures by 2026, up from 22% three years ago.

The picture isn’t one-dimensional. Late-stage funding has become harder to secure, global tech companies are competing aggressively for Israeli talent, and founders are navigating a more demanding investment environment than they were two years ago. New hubs are also emerging beyond Tel Aviv. Beersheba in cybersecurity, Jerusalem in biomedical tech, the Negev in climate, Haifa in maritime and logistics.

What hasn’t changed is the depth of the ecosystem. Strong universities, a dense startup culture, and genuine expertise in fields the world increasingly needs. AI, cybersecurity, climate tech, and quantum computing are where the next chapter gets written.
