Adimaly (Malayalam: അടിമാലി) is a town in the Idukki district of Kerala, India.[1] Adimali is located on the National Highway 49 (India) connecting Kochi and Madurai, India. Dam (294 meter length) was constructed in 1963 across the Panniar river, nearly 15 km southeast of Adimali, on the way to Rajakkad. Adimali is known for its proximity to munnar and natural beauty. Kallar is another beautiful place located 14 km from Adimaly. Adimaly has almost all the basic facilities like well connected roads, educational institutions and hospitals. The former name of the Adimali area was Mannamkandam, as the name indicates the Mannan tribe once populated the area. Other tribal groups collectively called the Muthuvan were also living in Adimali. Before 1980, the main crops under cultivation were rice as well as pepper and cardamom. Now almost 90 percent of the paddy fields have been modified for other purposes such as residential land, rubber plantations or banana fields.

ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിലെ മലയോര മേഖലയില്‍ ശക്തമായ മഴ തുടരുന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ ദേശീയ പാത 85 ല്‍ നേര്യമംഗലം മുതല്‍ അടിമാലി വരെ ഗതാഗതം പൂര്‍ണമായും നിരോധിച്ചതായി ദുരന്ത നിവാരണ വിഭാഗം അറിയിച്ചു. ഈ ഭാഗത്ത് മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലുണ്ടാകാനുള്ള സാധ്യത കണക്കിലെടുത്താണിത്. ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ച് പോലീസിന് അടിയന്തര നിര്‍ദേശം നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പൊതുജനങ്ങള്‍ ഈ ഭാഗത്തു കൂടിയുള്ള യാത്ര ഒഴിവാക്കണം.
