Ontario has introduced the first set of permanent residence pathways under its revamped provincial immigration program. Effective June 26, 2026, the province announced the new Ontario Workforce Priority Stream, offering three pathways for eligible foreign workers:

• TEER 0–3 Pathway – For workers in higher-skilled occupations.
• TEER 4–5 Pathway – For workers in lower-skilled occupations.
• Self-Employed Physicians – For registered physicians eligible to bill through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).

The new pathways aim to address Ontario’s labour market needs while providing more opportunities for skilled professionals and essential workers to obtain permanent residence.
