IGNCA × MICA | Where Heritage Meets Creativity 🇮🇳

A new chapter for Indian culture and creativity begins!

Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts and MICA, Ahmedabad have joined hands through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), creating new possibilities for academic collaboration, research, knowledge exchange and innovative approaches to India’s rich cultural heritage.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Hon’ble Member Secretary, IGNCA, and Prof. Jaya Deshmukh, Director & CEO, MICA, along with Dr. Sudhir Lall, Dean, IGNCA, Prof. Falguni Vasavada, Academic Head, The School of Applied Creativity, MICA, Arupa Lahiry, Regional Director Vadodara IGNCA.

From an inspiring dialogue on “AI vs AI — Artificial Intelligence vs Artistic Intelligence” to reflections on Indian identity, culture and the essence of being Indian, the day was filled with ideas that encouraged young minds to look at heritage through a contemporary lens.

Dr. Joshi’s concluding lines, “मैदान मत छोड़ना तुम”, left the students with a powerful message: never give up.

An insightful podcast with Prof. Ruchi Tiwari further explored identity, culture and the idea of India, while the day concluded with discussions on specialised courses on Indian heritage and culture, research opportunities and future academic collaborations.

When India’s timeless cultural wisdom meets contemporary creativity, new possibilities emerge.
