Day 1 of the International Conference on 'Regulating Media Campaigns' concluded with insightful discussions on the evolving relationship between media, technology, and electoral integrity in the digital age.
Organized by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, in association with IIIDEM and Delhi Technological University (DTU), the conference brought together election practitioners, policymakers, academicians, media professionals, and experts from diverse fields to exchange perspectives on emerging challenges and opportunities within the information ecosystem.
The day featured engaging deliberations on the role of AI-powered fact-checking, responsible platform governance, international cooperation, and collaborative institutional mechanisms in safeguarding democratic processes.
As Day 1 draws to a close, the conversations have reinforced the need for innovation, evidence-based policymaking, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to build resilient and trustworthy information ecosystems. The conference continues to aim at advancing global knowledge and strengthening capacities for protecting electoral integrity.
