EL Nino Preparedness & Awareness Programme on Scientific Sheep & Goat Production

A successful EL Nino Preparedness & Awareness Programme on Scientific Sheep and Goat Production was conducted today with the participation of more than 100 members of the Sheep & Goat Federation.

The programme focused on strengthening awareness and preparedness among sheep and goat farmers to effectively address the challenges associated with EL Nino conditions and to promote scientific, sustainable and productive livestock management practices.

Director Dr. S. B. Barbuddhe shared valuable insights and guidance with the participants, highlighting important aspects of preparedness and scientific sheep and goat production.

Dr. P. Baswa Reddy, Principal Scientist, delivered a comprehensive PPT presentation covering each and every important aspect related to the theme, providing practical and scientific information for improved sheep and goat production and management.

As part of the programme, a health camp was also conducted in collaboration with AIIMS Bibinagar for the Sheep & Goat Federation members, providing an important platform for health awareness and medical support.

The enthusiastic participation of 100+ federation members made the programme highly informative, impactful and meaningful, bringing together scientific knowledge, climate preparedness, livestock management and community health awareness.

🇮🇳 80th Independence Day Celebrations at ICAR–NMRI 🇮🇳

The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with immense pride, patriotism, and national spirit at ICAR–National Meat Research Institute (NMRI) 🇮🇳✨

The celebrations commenced with Dr. S. B. Barbudde, Director, ICAR–NMRI, hoisting the National Flag, marking the beginning of the celebrations with great pride and dignity.

The event continued with the soulful rendition of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem, followed by patriotic songs that filled the atmosphere with a powerful sense of national pride, unity, and love for our motherland. ❤️🇮🇳

As part of the celebrations, quiz and essay-writing competitions on Independence Day and India’s freedom struggle were organized to encourage awareness, knowledge, creativity, and patriotic spirit. The winners were felicitated and presented with prizes in recognition of their excellent performance. 🏆📚

The celebration was a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and our collective responsibility to uphold the values of freedom, unity, integrity, and progress.

Neelima College of Nursing, Anurag University, Hyderabad, visited ICAR–National Meat Research Institute (ICAR-NMRI), Hyderabad, for an educational and industrial exposure visit.

A total of 30 B.Sc. Nursing students**, accompanied by 2 faculty members, explored the institute's state-of-the-art research laboratories, advanced technologies, and modern facilities. The visit provided valuable insights into meat science, food safety, research methodologies, laboratory practices, and the latest innovations in the field.

The interactive sessions enabled students to understand the role of scientific research in ensuring food quality, public health, and sustainable livestock development. Such educational visits help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world research, inspiring students to pursue future opportunities in science and healthcare.
