WHO Representative to India Dr Roderico H. Ofrin visited the Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) Umsawnongkahrai Sub-Centre in Ri-Bhoi district in Meghalaya to interact with the health workforce. The HWC team showcased the comprehensive primary health services being provided, which includes the treatment of six (TB) patients, delivery of four babies last month, and NCD services, digital data entry and recordkeeping, among others. Dr Ofrin is in Meghalaya to attend North East TB Summit in Shillong.

WHO Representative to India Dr Roderico H. Ofrin planted a sapling of Moringa oleifera (drumstick) on behalf of WHO at the Tree Plantation Ceremony in Nehru Park in New Delhi. Senior government officials, ambassadors and diplomats participated in the event that was led by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, Minister for Urban Affairs, and Petroleum and Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi LG V K Saxena and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant. Mr Dinesh Gundu Rao, Karnataka Minister of Health and Family Welfare; Dr Pawan Kumar Additional Commissioner (Family Planning and Maternal Health), Government of India; and Dr Roderico H. Ofrin, WHO Representative to India; inaugurated the Rajya Kutum Yojana (State Family Planning) Summit in Bangalore on 16 October 2023.
