How Automatic Sprinkler Systems Work
KEC Fire Safety Systems – Protecting Lives, Securing the Future
An Automatic Sprinkler System is designed to detect and control a fire automatically at an early stage.
How It Works:
1. Fire/Heat Detection
When a fire starts, the temperature around the sprinkler head rises.
2. Sprinkler Activation
When the temperature reaches the sprinkler’s rated activation point, the sprinkler head opens automatically.
3. Water Discharge
Water under pressure is discharged through the activated sprinkler head directly onto the fire.
4. Automatic Fire Pump Operation
The pressure drop in the fire-fighting pipeline activates the fire pump system automatically, maintaining the required water pressure.
5. Fire Alarm Activation
Water flow activates the flow switch, which sends a signal to the fire alarm/control panel and alerts the occupants.
6. Fire Control
The sprinkler controls or suppresses the fire at its early stage, helping reduce damage and protect lives and property.
