On 17 October, the Embassy was delighted to participate in the Annual Diplomatic Bazaar, held under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal. This cherished occasion is dedicated to supporting the Mabarrat Um Al Hussein Orphanage, with all proceeds going towards this worthy cause.

On 13th October the Embassy marked the 66th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Cyprus by hosting an official reception. The guest of honour was the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nancy Namrouqa. The event was attended by government officials, ambassadors and other diplomats, representatives of UN agencies and NGOs, businessmen, academics, artists and friends of the Embassy. It was a memorable evening featuring an interactive program showcasing the unique cypriot cultural heritage.

The Ambassador, Mr. Sevag Avedissian, in his capacity as non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq, paid a two-day visit to Baghdad from 5-6 October 2026 for consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ambassador had respective meetings with the Directors of European Affairs and International Organisations, during which various issues concerning bilateral relations, current regional developments and multilateral affairs were discussed.
