📌📚From 28 to 30 July, the OSCE Mission to Moldova co-facilitated a second round of consultations to advance the development of the Guide on Integrating Equality and Human Rights Standards into School Textbooks.
👥Building on the outcomes of the first consultations, textbook authors, evaluators and education specialists guided by human rights experts worked together to review and refine the Guide's content. Through collaborative discussions and practical exercises, participants further strengthened recommendations to support the development of a practical resource for education professionals.
✅The consultations addressed key themes, including gender equality, countering hate speech and violence, promoting a culture of tolerance and respect for the rights of ethnic, linguistic and religious communities and persons with disabilities, as well as preventing age-based discrimination. Participants also discussed practical approaches to ensuring that educational materials are inclusive and reflective of human rights principles.
🤝The event was organized in co-ordination with the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova/Ministerul Educației și Cercetării al Republicii Moldova, with guidance and facilitation of Alexandrovici Goloseapov and Lisenco as well as expert contributions from UN Human Rights Moldova, Amnesty International Moldova, Office of the People’s Advocate/Oficiul Avocatului Poporului Moldova and the Equality Council/Consiliul pentru egalitate - Совет по равенству - Equality Council.
✅This event is part of the Mission’s project “Enhancing inclusion and advancement of national minority rights in Moldova,” implemented in view of the efforts to support the development of an inclusive society built on strong mechanisms that foster human rights, a culture of tolerance and trust.
