Super Typhoon Bavi Recovery Update (SitRep #10) โ€“ July 31, 2026, 6:30 PM โ€ข Full Report: https://bit.ly/3TO5Rgl

Power restoration remains the top priority across the CNMI, with steady progress on all islands.

Saipan is now 81% restored (11,833 customers), with crews installing and energizing transformers and reconnecting homes and businesses across multiple villages. Generation capacity has increased to 44.5 MW to support restoration.

Tinian is 93% restored (985 customers), with ongoing work in Marpo Valley, subdivisions, and Su***de Cliff areas.

Rota crews continue repairs following significant damage, including downed poles. Line work, transformer installation, and generator repairs are underway to bring more areas online.

Water service is largely restored: Saipan wells are 89% online, Tinian is fully operational, and Rota is at 99% service.

Mariners are advised to use caution as some navigational aids and VHF communications remain limited. In emergencies, call 911 or use VHF Channel 16.

Follow CNMI JIC, HSEM, and NWS Guam for official updates.

As our community continues post-typhoon cleanup efforts, the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation (CUC) reminds customers to please keep electric and water meters clear and accessible.

DO NOT place storm debris, vegetation, construction materials, or other items over or around your meters. Keeping meters accessible allows CUC personnel to safely obtain accurate readings, perform inspections, and maintain utility service.

Blocked or covered water meters will prevent CUC from obtaining an actual reading, resulting in an estimated bill until a meter reading can be completed.

CUC appreciates the communityโ€™s cooperation and support as we continue working together to restore and maintain reliable utility services.

For more information, contact our hotline at (670) 236-4333, visit our website, and follow our social media pages for the latest updates. In case of an emergency, please contact Customer Service at (670) 664-4282.

Instead, contact our 24-Hour Call Center at (670) 664-4282 and provide the location so our crews can safely retrieve the equipment.

CUC appreciates the communityโ€™s cooperation and support in helping us safely recover these utility assets as restoration efforts continue.

22/07/2026

The CNMI Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP) announces that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service (USDA FNS) has approved a two-month extension of certification periods for eligible NAP households whose certifications are scheduled to expire in July, August, and September.

This temporary extension is intended to help ensure uninterrupted access to food assistance while the NAP Office continues its ongoing Disaster Nutrition Assistance Program (D-NAP) operations and recovery efforts.

Although eligible households will automatically receive the extension, all NAP recipients remain responsible for reporting any changes in their household circumstances within ten (10) days. This includes changes in household composition, income, address, or other information that may affect eligibility or benefit amounts. Timely reporting helps prevent underpayments or overpayments of benefits.

Recipients with questions regarding their certification extension or reporting requirements are encouraged to contact the CNMI NAP Office at (670) 236-2800 for assistance.

The CNMI Nutrition Assistance Program appreciates the public's patience and cooperation as we continue serving our community and ensuring that benefits are provided accurately and efficiently.
