Harnas Wildlife Foundation started Namibia's first wildlife sanctuary in 1978, caring for orphaned, injured and human-habituated wildlife. Part of the Naankuse Foundation since 2022, both organisations now share their passion for wildlife conservation.

🌟 What a busy and rewarding day at the Naankuse Lifeline Clinic! 💙

Our amazing Lifeline Clinic volunteers teamed up with the wonderful volunteers from Harnas Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary for an afternoon full of care, kindness, and community spirit. 🙌

Together, they helped serve nutritious meals to local families (a huge thank you to Namib Mills for your continued support! 🥣❤️), tackled mountains of school uniforms made extra grubby by energetic little adventurers, and helped keep the youngsters healthy with hair washing and shaving to prevent pesky fungal scalp infections. ✨🧼✂️

A big round of applause to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and made a difference today. Your compassion and hard work are changing lives, one smile at a time! 🌍💚

🌍💚 Today is World Environment Day, and this year’s message is clear: a sustainable planet starts with saying NO to pollution.

Plastic pollution remains one of the greatest environmental threats of our time, with many plastic products taking hundreds of years to break down — if they ever do.

At Naankuse, we believe every action counts. From coastal clean-up initiatives in western Namibia to community litter collection projects in Epukiro in the east, we are committed to protecting the natural beauty of our country. Across the Naankuse Ecotourism Collection, we actively reduce plastic use by choosing sustainable glass alternatives wherever possible.

Together, we can create a cleaner, greener future and build a planet that future generations will be proud to call home. 🌱♻️

🌿 Exciting news from Harnas by N/a’an ku sê! 🌿

A new chapter begins as we transform one of Namibia’s most iconic conservation destinations into an even more meaningful experience for guests, wildlife, and local communities.

✨ Coming in April 2027: The Harnas Eco Camp – an immersive journey connecting visitors with Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and rich San cultural heritage.

As we prepare for this exciting evolution, all existing bookings will be honoured, while new accommodation, camping, day visitor, and walk-in bookings will no longer be accepted.
Of course the volunteer program is not affected. We will always welcome our wonderful volunteers.

Together, we're creating a future focused on conservation, community upliftment, and sustainable tourism. Watch this space for more updates!

Tiny hooves. Big journey. 🧡

This little hartebeest was found orphaned and all alone, but thankfully he’s now safe and receiving lots of love and dedicated care from the Naankuse Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary team. 🍼✨

Our handsome baby boy has since moved to the Harnas Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary, where he’ll continue growing strong in the best possible environment for one day returning to the wild where he belongs. 🌿

One small problem… he still doesn’t have a name! 👀
Got any adorable name suggestions for our little fighter? Drop them below! ⬇️

🚑💙 Outreach at the Lifeline Clinic 💙🚑

The Lifeline Clinic team hit the road once again, traveling deep into remote communities to bring life-saving healthcare and medical treatment to those who cannot reach the clinic themselves.

In Namibia’s Omaheke Region, many San communities continue to live in extreme poverty, often forgotten and left in the shadows. But hope travels with every mile our team drives. 🌍✨

The Lifeline Clinic is more than healthcare — it is compassion, dignity, and a light in the darkness for those who need it most. Together, we can make sure no one is left behind. ❤️

Africa Day is a celebration of our heritage, our resilience, and the extraordinary beauty of this continent we call home. 🌍

At Naankuse Foundation, we are proud to stand for the protection of Africa’s wildlife, the empowerment of local communities, and the preservation of our natural heritage for generations to come.

Every rescued animal, every child supported through education, and every conservation effort is part of a greater story — Africa’s story.

Today, we celebrate the spirit of unity, sustainability, and hope that drives positive change across our continent. Together, we can protect what makes Africa truly wild and wonderfully unique. 🐘🦏🦒

Happy Africa Day from all of us at Naankuse Foundation. ❤️💚💛

Majestic, powerful, and impossible not to admire 🦏✨
Just look at these magnificent white rhinos roaming the Harnas Reserve! These gentle giants are protected around the clock by our dedicated anti-poaching unit and incredible K9 team 🐾💚

And the best news of all? One of our enormous rhino moms recently welcomed a tiny calf into the world! 🍼🌍 This little one is already exploring its new home, one curious step at a time.

(And yes… apologies for the grainy photo 📸 — we’re keeping a respectful distance from mom and baby. After all, it’s their world, and we’re just lucky to witness it.)

🌍 Today is the International Day for Biological Diversity 🌿
This year’s theme, “Acting locally for global impact,” reminds us that real change starts at home.

Across Namibia, communities and landowners are stepping up through biodiversity stewardship — protecting ecosystems, restoring landscapes, safeguarding water sources, and creating sustainable livelihoods for future generations. 💚

At N/a’an ku sê, conservation is at the heart of everything we do. From desert plains and wetlands to the breathtaking Kalahari, our six protected nature reserves are dedicated to preserving habitats and species that might otherwise be lost to human-wildlife conflict. 🦒🐾

Through active conservation management, we are restoring ecosystems to their natural balance and helping flora and fauna thrive once more. Because protecting biodiversity means protecting resilience, food and water security, tourism, jobs, and a sustainable future for all. 🌱

✨ Every action counts.
What difference are YOU making at home?
