The newly elected Deputy Mayor of Gobabis have resigned verbally publically in the Special Council meeting where the election of the Deputy Mayor was conducted. ( Kindly see livestreaming of election and her verbal resignation on this page below:)

Where and how must the resignation be submitted?

If the person wants/needs to formally resign from their existing elected position as a Management Committee member, the LA ACT section 23(d) says the resignation must be:

in writing, addressed to and delivered to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the municipality council.

Therefore, the resignation is not submitted to the Mayor, and it is not simply a verbal resignation at a Council meeting.

It should be a written notice to the Chief Executive Officer.

This means that the position of the Deputy Mayor is illegally filled or Cllr. Doreen Indongo is holding two positions simultaneously as she did not render a written resignation from her position as Member of the Management Committee.

It was very clear that Martha Tjombe from LPM is SWAPO.

She voted in favour of SWAPO while her National Leaders gave her a directive to stand with us, basically undermining the authority of her National Leaders.

The Deputy Mayor position is now filled by a SWAPO member who relinquished her membership in the Management Committee verbally during today's election meeting.

The election results are as follows:
4 = SWAPO (3) + LPM (1)
3 = A Right to Shelter

🚨 GOBABIS MUNICIPALITY UPDATE

The Mayor still failed to satisfactorily answer the questions posed by Right to Shelter councillors, and with supporting documentation.

He then continued to be untruthful, stating that A-RTS-N councillors agreed to the sale of 100 erven, when everything that was said in that meeting was not even recorded in the minutes of that meeting.

After reading the answers which your honourable mayor provided are YOU satisfied? πŸ‘€
