A Property Officer is responsible for managing, safeguarding, and controlling an organization’s assets and properties. Key duties include:
1. Asset Management
• Maintain an updated asset register.
• Record acquisition, transfer, and disposal of assets.
• Conduct regular asset verification and stock-taking.
2. Property Maintenance
• Monitor the condition of buildings, equipment, and facilities.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
• Ensure properties are safe and functional.
3. Inventory Control
• Track office furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure proper storage and utilization of assets.
• Investigate missing or damaged property.
4. Procurement Support
• Assist with purchasing property-related items.
• Verify delivered goods and ensure compliance with specifications.
5. Compliance and Record Keeping
• Ensure adherence to property management policies and regulations.
• Prepare reports on asset status and property utilization.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
6. Property Allocation
• Allocate office space, equipment, and other assets to departments.
• Monitor asset movement and usage.
7. Risk Management
• Identify risks related to property and assets.
• Recommend measures to prevent loss, theft, or damage.
