Call 99900 immediately to report: Fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle or other accidents in industry or any gas leaks, chemical spills and rescue situations.

Why call 99900?

Our Emergency Control Centre is the heartbeat of the fire service. It’s staffed 24/7 by trained dispatchers with direct access to fire crews, equipment, and response maps.

⚠️ Important:

Do NOT report emergencies directly to individual firefighters or through WhatsApp groups, social media, or third parties. This causes delays and can cost lives.

Public Notice: Pre-Burn Exercise Underway

The Mariental Fire Department would like to inform residents that a pre-burn exercise is currently underway at the Sewerage Ponds.

Our firefighting team is on site to manage the burn safely and ensure the area is cleared properly.

We apologise for any smoke or inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding as we work to keep Mariental safe.

Yesterday, the Mariental Municipality stood together with the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, the Zambezi Regional Council, the Katima Mulilo Town Council, and the Namibia Emergency Services Institute to commemorate the Namibian Firefighters’ Day.

Today we pause to pay tribute to the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to every firefighter serving today for your courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe.

Thank you for running toward danger when others run away. We see you, we honor you, and we stand with you. 🔥🚒

Today Hon Cllr. Hermanus Isaaks, Chairperson of the Mariental Municipality Management Committee, officially launched Sparky – Mariental Municipality’s very own Fire Safety Mascot!

Sparky’s very first visit was to the Mariental State Hospital Children’s Ward, where he had the chance to meet some of our beautiful children. Seeing those smiles, and those made en route made it all worthwhile 😊

A huge thank you to Securitas, for partnering with the Mariental Municipality to strengthen our community awareness and safety campaigns.

Sparky is already a friend to the community, especially the children. He’s bringing smiles while teaching everyone about the common causes and dangers of fires, and making sure our community knows how to prevent fires and what to do if one occurs.

Here’s to a safer Mariental!
