Let’s come together as a community to clean up Omaruru and make our town a nicer, cleaner place to live!

Join us for a fun day of community clean-up! Bring along your friends and family and help us make a difference.

🗓️ Date: Saturday, 19 September 2026
⏰ Registration: 09H30

Please come register at the Office of Omaruru Municipality before this date if you and your family would like to participate.

We’ll provide:
• Trash bags
• Gloves
• Refreshments

Please bring:
• Comfortable clothes
• A water bottle
• Your friends and family!

📢PRESS RELEASE
ARAF TO RETURN IN 2027

The Omaruru, Karibib and Usakos Local Authority Cooperation (OKULAC) has announced that the Amalgamated Rotational Annual Festival (ARAF) will not take place in 2026 and will return in 2027, with Omaruru set to host the next cycle.

Following the successful completion of the current ARAF cycle, the three local authorities will use this period to engage with stakeholders and the community, review the experience of the previous cycle, and identify areas for improvement ahead of the festival’s return.

This process will help ensure that lessons and recommendations from across Omaruru, Karibib and Usakos are considered as preparations begin for the next cycle.

OKULAC extends its appreciation to the residents, stakeholders, partners and supporters of all three towns for their continued participation and support of ARAF.

In just 70 days, on 1 October, the 100th Annual White Flag Celebrations of the Zeraeua Royal Traditional Authority will begin here in Omaruru, marking a century of heritage, culture, and tradition.

Thelma Van Rhyn, the Honourable Management Chairperson of Omaruru Municipality, recently held a productive meeting with Chief Manasse Christian Zeraeua, Chief of the Zeraeua Royal Traditional Authority, and Phillip Ngunovandu, Special Advisor to the Zeraeua Royal Traditional Authority, to discuss how Omaruru Municipality can support this historic milestone.

This meeting marks the beginning of a renewed journey of cooperation between Omaruru Municipality and the Zeraeua Royal Traditional Authority as we work together to celebrate this significant occasion and strengthen our partnership for the benefit of our community.
