VACANCY: CHEF

Whipps Wilderness Safaris is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join the team at one of our remote camps.

We are looking for someone who is creative, organised and able to prepare consistently delicious meals using the ingredients available in a remote setting. The successful candidate must enjoy working closely with a small team and creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key responsibilities:
Preparing and presenting high-quality meals
Planning practical and varied menus
Managing food orders, stock levels and portion control
Maintaining excellent kitchen hygiene and food-safety standards
Catering for special dietary requirements
Training and supporting local kitchen staff
Helping to create special guest dining experiences

Requirements:
Professional chef training or relevant experience
Previous lodge, hotel or hospitality experience
Strong menu-planning and kitchen-management skills
Able to work independently and remain organised under pressure
Willing to live and work in a remote area
Positive attitude and excellent teamwork skills
Valid driver’s licence would be an advantage
Namibian citizenship or the legal right to work in Namibia

🐝 A successful rescue and relocation at Wüstenquell!

A busy colony of African Savannah honeybees recently made its home near Red Rock Mountain Chalet. As the hive was too close to an area used by guests, professional bee handlers carefully relocated the entire colony to a secure new hive safely away from visitors.

These remarkable, desert-adapted bees are built for Namibia’s harsh conditions. They continue foraging in extreme heat, drought, and wind, working harder to collect pollen and nectar when other bees may struggle. They are also specially adapted to conserve water and regulate the temperature inside their hive with limited resources.

The colony is already active in its new home, flying in and out and continuing its important role as a pollinator of acacias and other desert plants.
A safe solution for our guests and a conservation win for these hardworking members of the Wüstenquell family! 🌼🐝

We are looking for a hands-on Management Couple to work across our remote camps. The role includes lodge management, guiding, maintenance, staff supervision, and guest hosting, with a strong focus on:

Menu development
Chef training
Food quality and presentation
Creating memorable guest experiences

Candidates should have lodge management, culinary, guiding and practical maintenance experience, plus valid driving licences and PDPs.
