PRESS RELEASE:
AMAC CHAIRMAN, HON. CHRISTOPHER ZAKKA MAIKALANGU, GREETS RESIDENTS AT SALLAH; URGES PEACE, UNITY, AND REFLECTION
The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, extends his warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and all residents of the Council on the auspicious occasion of this year's Sallah celebration.
In a Sallah message, the AMAC Chairman urged residents to embrace the core virtues of the season, which include love, selflessness, sacrifice, and obedience, while carrying forward the lessons of piety and discipline.
Hon. Maikalangu noted that the sustainable development and peace of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and AMAC in particular, rely heavily on the collective spiritual and physical support of all citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic affiliations.
He emphasized that the council's strength lies in its diversity and peaceful coexistence.
"Sallah is a period of deep reflection and gratitude.
As we gather with family and friends to celebrate, let us remember the less privileged among us, extend a hand of fellowship, and pray fervently for the peace, unity, and economic prosperity of our beloved council and Nigeria as a whole," Maikalangu stated.
The Chairman also seized the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to the Honourable Minister of the FCT, His Excellency, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and mentorship, which have been instrumental in driving infrastructural development across the capital city.
He reassured residents that the AMAC administration remains completely committed to delivering the dividends of democracy.
He stated that the council will continue to prioritize security, rural electrification, potable water distribution, and the rehabilitation of primary health centers and rural roads across the 12 wards of the area council.
While wishing everyone a joyful, peaceful, and crime-free Sallah celebration, Hon. Maikalangu urged residents to remain security-conscious and to report any suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies.
