FCT ALGON CHAIRMAN, MAIKALANGU, PAYS LAST RESPECTS TO LATE HRH PHILIBUS TUKURA IN KADUNA

The Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Area Councils Chairmen Of Nigeria (FCT ALGON) and Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has paid his last respects to the late His Royal Highness (HRH) Philibus Tukura at his funeral service held at the First Baptist Church, Issah Mission, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The ALGON Boss joined the family, friends, traditional rulers, members of the First Baptist Church and the entire community to mourn the passing of the respected tradition offering prayers and words of comfort to the bereaved family.

The FCT ALGON Chairman described the deceased as a man whose life was marked by service, wisdom, peace and commitment to his people, noting that his passing was a great loss to his family, community and all those who benefited from his leadership and fatherly counsel.

While addressing the congregation and members of the First Baptist Church, Hon. Maikalangu urged them to remain steadfast in their faith and to take solace in God during the difficult period.

“At a moment like this, words may not be enough to express the pain of losing someone dear to us. But as people of faith, we must hold firmly to God, knowing that He is the giver and taker of life.

"Let us continue to pray for the family, asking God to grant them the strength, comfort and courage to bear this irreparable loss.”

He further urged the family to preserve the legacy of the late traditional ruler by continuing to uphold the values of peace, unity, love and service which he stood for during his lifetime.

Maikalangu prayed that God Almighty would forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest and give the bereaved family the fortitude to overcome the pain of his departure.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the second son of the deceased, Mr. Sadiq Philibus Yakubu, expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu and other dignitaries, friends, colleagues and well-wishers who identified with the family during the funeral.

Mr. Yakubu particularly thanked the FCT ALGON Chairman for making time to attend the funeral and for his words of encouragement, prayers and support to the family at such a difficult moment.

He prayed that God would continue to bless Hon. Maikalangu and all those who stood with the family, adding that their presence and support would remain deeply appreciated.

The funeral service ended with prayers for the repose of the soul of the late HRH Philibus Tukura and for God's continued comfort and protection over the bereaved family.

​The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), FCT Chapter, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of Comrade Patrick Osaretin Osadebamwen, former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council.

​In a condolence message issued to the leadership and entire members of the FCT NUJ Council, Hon. Maikalangu described the late Osadebamwen as a dedicated media icon, an fearless advocate for truth, and an exemplary leader who served the Fourth Estate with unwavering commitment.

​Expressing his heartfelt grief, the ALGON Boss stated, "The news of Comrade Patrick Osadebamwen's departure is a monumental loss not only to the NUJ FCT Council but to the entire media fraternity across the nation.

"He was a soldier and a real bulldozer of the pen profession, a fearless journalist who stood firmly for truth, justice, and the advancement of responsible journalism.

​"His bold commentary, developmental reporting, and steadfast leadership left an indelible mark on the media landscape in the Federal Capital Territory.

"As we mourn this irreparable loss, I pray that Almighty God grants his family, friends, and the entire NUJ body the fortitude to bear this painful exit.

The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council and Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, FCT Chapter, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has called on residents of the Federal Capital Territory to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Distinguished Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, and Dr. John Gabaya in the interest of unity, stability, and sustained development across the FCT.

Maikalangu made the call on Sunday while joining the congregation of Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, Kugbo 1 and 2, for a worship service.

Addressing worshippers during the service, the ALGON Chairman emphasized the role of prayer and collective responsibility in nation building.

He urged the church to continue interceding for leaders at all levels, and to uphold peace, unity, and faith as foundations for community progress.

"The progress we desire for the FCT can only be achieved when we stand together behind leaders who are committed to the welfare of our people," Hon. Maikalangu said.

"I solicit your prayers and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, and Dr. John Gabaya as they work to deliver good governance and development to every part of the Territory."

He reaffirmed his commitment to partnering with religious institutions to promote peaceful coexistence and grassroots development within AMAC and across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
