FFS GOMBE CONTROLLER VISITS NEW NSCDC COMMANDANT, REAFFIRMS INTER-AGENCY TIES

The State Controller, Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, DCF Suleiman Mohammed Suleiman, today paid a familiarization visit to the newly posted State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), CC Muhammad Inuwa Usman, at the Corps’ Command Headquarters in Gombe.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the cordial relationship between the two sister agencies and promoting effective engagement in areas of mutual interest, particularly emergency response, disaster management and the protection of lives and critical national assets.

The visit also provided an opportunity to reciprocate the NSCDC’s earlier gesture of planning a visit to the Federal Fire Service, which could not take place as the State Controller was out of town on official engagement. The meeting further demonstrated the mutual respect and cordial relationship between the two sister agencies, reaffirming their commitment to sustained engagement in the interest of public safety and effective service delivery.

During the meeting, DCF Suleiman congratulated CC Muhammad Inuwa Usman on his posting to Gombe State and expressed the Federal Fire Service’s readiness to sustain constructive engagement with the Corps in advancing public safety and effective service delivery.

In his response, CC Muhammad Inuwa Usman appreciated the Controller for the visit and reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to maintaining a cordial working relationship with the Federal Fire Service for the safety and security of residents of Gombe State.

The visit concluded with an exchange of ideas on areas of mutual interest, underscoring the importance of sustained engagement among security and emergency response agencies.

FFS GOMBE JOINS GOVERNOR INUWA YAHAYA AT GOMBE @ 30 COMMEMORATION AND BOOK LAUNCH

The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, joined the Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, and other distinguished dignitaries at the commemoration of Gombe State's 30th anniversary and the launch of a commemorative book.

The event, held at the Gombe International Conference Centre, Gombe, brought together prominent personalities, government officials, and stakeholders to celebrate the state's three decades of existence and reflect on its journey of growth and development.

Notable dignitaries in attendance included the first Military Administrator of Gombe State, Group Captain J. I. Orji, and the first civilian Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Joshua Lidani. The Governors of Yobe, Bauchi, and Plateau States were represented by their respective Deputy Governors.

The Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command, remains committed to supporting the state's development through effective fire prevention, emergency response, and sustained public safety awareness.

The Federal Fire Service (FFS), Gombe State Command, has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting fire safety awareness through effective stakeholder engagement and public education.

This was highlighted during a familiarisation visit by the State Controller, Deputy Controller of Fire (DCF) Suleiman Mohammed Suleiman, to the newly appointed Commissioner for Special Duties, Gombe State, Professor Ahmed Wali.

The visit aimed to establish a cordial working relationship and explore areas of mutual interest in advancing fire prevention, public sensitisation and emergency preparedness across the state.

During the meeting, DCF Suleiman emphasised the importance of involving relevant government institutions and stakeholders in promoting fire safety practices. He noted that preventing fire incidents requires collective responsibility, sustained public awareness and adherence to established safety measures.

He further reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to work with relevant ministries and agencies to intensify fire safety education, reduce fire outbreaks, protect lives and safeguard property across Gombe State.
