ARIA RESORTS & CASINO, LAS VEGAS...

Valentina stood among a crowd of fangirls, journalists, and paparazzi, all fighting for Kael's attention. Microphones were shoved toward him as questions came from every direction.

"Kael, over here!"

"Are you really getting married?"

"Is it true your company is taking over the Romano Group's European branch?"

The questions came one after another, but Kael handled them with irritating ease.

"The European expansion is already underway," he answered smoothly. "As for the engagement, I don't discuss my private life with the press."

"So you're confirming the engagement?"

Kael's lips curved into a faint smile. "I believe I just said I don't discuss my private life."

The crowd erupted again.

Valentina almost rolled her eyes.

God, these people were embarrassing.

She'd barely landed in Vegas, and now she was standing in the middle of a crowd of screaming women, watching a man she intended to put six feet under act like he was doing the world a favor by breathing.

"Eyes on target," she murmured into her hearing device.

Kael had trained bodyguards surrounding him, but Valentina wasn't worried. She'd taken down men with tighter security than this. Besides, she never left a job unfinished.

And Kael was about to become her next completed assignment.

She slipped a poisoned needle between her index and middle fingers, keeping her hand low as she watched him through the gaps between the bodies around her.

One clean shot.

That was all she needed.

She waited until the crowd shifted, giving her a brief opening.

Then she flicked her fingers.

The needle shot forward.

And missed.

Kael turned toward another reporter at the exact wrong moment, causing the needle to graze his suit collar before embedding itself in the microphone stand behind him.

Then Kael's gaze dropped to the tiny object lodged beside him.

His expression didn't change, but his eyes did. He stared at the needle for half a second, then lifted his head and started scanning the crowd.

"F**k," she muttered.

His eyes swept past faces, searching.

Then they stopped in her direction.

She didn't look away. She adjusted her dark shades as though she were just another obsessed fan. The blonde wig, brightly colored outfit, and ridiculous accessories she'd thrown together made her look like she'd spent the entire morning planning her wedding to the man.

Around her, the fangirls lost their minds.

"OMG! He's looking at me!"

"Kael, we love you!"

"Kael, over here!"

One girl screamed so loudly that Valentina nearly flinched.

Jesus Christ. Did they have to be this f**king loud?

To be fair, she understood the appeal.

Kael was drop-dead handsome. Tall as f**k, with the kind of height that made your neck hurt just looking up at him. His porcelain skin looked almost unreal beneath the lights, and his broad shoulders filled out his black suit perfectly. Thick jet-black hair was brushed back from his face, though a few stubborn strands had fallen over his forehead.

And his lips...

Small, pink, and annoyingly perfect.

The kind of lips that made women forget they had brains.

Kael blew the crowd a kiss, and several women nearly collapsed.

Valentina resisted the urge to gag.

Cøcky bastard.

She'd give him credit for one thing, though. He knew exactly how to work a crowd.

Unfortunately for him, she wasn't here to join his fan club.

His gaze swept over her again, lingering just long enough to make her skin prickle beneath her disguise.

For the first time since arriving in Vegas, Valentina wondered if she'd underestimated her target.

She wasn't about to stick around and find out.

Keeping her head down, she slipped through the crowd and disappeared between the people pressing toward the barricades.

Kael watched the spot where she'd been standing.

Then he turned to his assistant.

"Follow her."

Without another word, his assistant nodded and spoke quietly into his earpiece.

Kael turned back toward the reporters, his faint smile returning as though nothing had happened.

VALENTINA'S APARTMENT...

Valentina ripped off her disguise the moment the door closed behind her.

This wasn't her first time in Vegas, the agency already prepared a hideout for her. She pulled everything off so quickly, as though wearing those ridiculous colors for another second might infect her.

She hated bright colors.

It was black or nothing.

Black matched her personality perfectly.

Left in nothing but her lace p@nties, she headed toward her laptop, her long black hair falling freely down her back. Bras had never been her thing, and she wasn't about to start wearing one just to please anybody.

Without the blonde wig and ridiculous outfit, she looked nothing like the harmless fangirl she'd pretended to be earlier.

Her features were sharp and delicate, with almond-shaped dark eyes that always seemed one second away from sizing up a target. A straight nose, naturally pink lips, and long black hair framed her face, making her striking features even harder to ignore.

She dropped into her chair, opened her laptop, and clicked on the files in her document folder.

KAEL ROMANO.

She hadn't even had time to properly review his file after landing in Vegas. She'd been in such a damn rush to get the job done that she'd barely glanced at his picture before running out to catch him at the casino.

A rookie mistake.

But she had never needed to study a file to put a man six feet under.

Still, after that embarrassing little stunt at the casino, curiosity had finally gotten the better of her.

She opened his profile.

KAEL ROMANO

Valentina leaned back in her chair, a slow grin spreading across her face.

She scrolled through the reports, studying the previous attempts on his life and how each assassin had met their end.

Snipers. Poison. Explosives. Seduction. Close-range attacks.

Different methods. Different people.

The same result.

Kael survived.

The assassins didn't.

Her smile faded slightly as she opened the last report. Ten assassins in the past three months, and not a single one had succeeded.

Either Kael was exceptionally lucky, or the man was far more dangerous than his public image suggested.

Probably both.

"You're more interesting than I thought, Romano."

She shut the file and glanced toward the window.

Something caught her eye.

Across the street, on the rooftop of a nearby building, a figure was setting up a r***e.

Valentina went still.

For a moment, she simply watched, her expression hardening as the person adjusted the weapon and positioned themselves toward her building.

Well, f*ck.

She hadn't expected company this soon.

Her gaze flicked toward the window again. She couldn't tell who the sniper was targeting, but the position gave them a clear view of her apartment.

And she wasn't stupid enough to sit around and wait to find out.

"Too f**king slow," she muttered.

She shut her laptop, pulled an oversized black T-shirt over her head, and grabbed her bag. The shirt fell past her arse.

She moved quickly, grabbed the gallon of gasoline she'd kept beneath the counter, and splashed it across the carpet and into the corners of the room. She wasn't about to leave her equipment, files, or anything else behind for some stranger to find.

Once she reached the exit, she glanced back at the apartment.

Home sweet f**king home.

What a waste.

She flicked open her lighter and tossed it onto the soaked carpet.

Flames caught almost immediately, spreading across the floor as thick smoke began to fill the room.

Valentina slipped out and pulled the door shut behind her.

By the time she reached her bike, smoke was pouring from the apartment windows. She swung onto the seat, started the engine, and sped away before anyone could stop her.

She glanced back once at the burning building, then returned her attention to the road.

Someone had been waiting outside her apartment with a r***e.

That was no coincidence.

Her thoughts drifted back to the casino, to Kael's sharp eyes and the way he'd watched her disappear into the crowd.

A faint smirk tugged at her lips.

"Well, Romano. If you're already curious about me, you should've just sent an invitation."

She twisted the throttle.

The bike roared beneath her as she sped into the night.

ROMANO ESTATE...

The Romano Estate sat behind massive black gates.

The gardens were perfectly trimmed, with towering fountains and rows of luxury cars parked out front.

And the mansion?

Pure sin.

Dark stone, massive glass windows, elegant pillars, and golden lights glowing from within.

Inside, polished marble floors gleamed beneath crystal chandeliers, while expensive paintings lined the walls. Everything screamed money.

Kael sat in his private lounge, one arm dr***d lazily over his black leather chair, listening while his guards reported everything that happened at the casino.

His face gave nothing away.

"Who was she?" he asked, low, almost bored.

"We're still working on it, sir. The footage hasn't been helpful. Her face was mostly covered."

Kael leaned back slowly. His eyes dropped to the table in front of him.

The small evidence bag was sitting right there.

Inside it was the needle. The same needle that had nearly gone into his throat in the middle of a f**king crowd.

The little b*tch had actually thought she could kill him like that. In public. With reporters everywhere.

Interesting.

"Find out who sent her," he said.

"Yes, sir."

"And the poison?"

"It has been sent for analysis, sir."

He gave a small nod, but his eyes stayed on the needle. He picked up his glass and took a slow sip, still staring at it like it personally offended him.

Most assassins who came for him were either too impatient, too arrogant, or too f**king stupid to even get close.

This one got close.

She missed, yes.

And that pi**ed him off and intrigued him at the same time, which was a dangerous combination for her.

"Keep looking," he ordered.

"Yes, sir."

The guards turned to leave. His voice stopped them before they reached the door.

"And don't underestimate her."

They turned back around.

The guards exchanged a quick look.

They left without another word.

Kael settled back into his chair alone, swirling the drink in his glass, eyes still on that stupid little needle in the bag.

DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS, FREMONT EAST...

Valentina stepped into the bar. It was dim, music playing low in the background. She came here for one person. Rook.

He was her handler. The one who handled everything she needed while she focused on the target.

She spotted him in the corner booth and slid in across from him.

"Rook."

He shut his laptop halfway. "Hey badass. Didn't expect you to come see me. What happened?"

"Someone was on a roof across from my apartment with a r***e. I burned the place and left before he got a clear shot."

Rook expression turned serious. "You see who it was?"

"No. And now I need a new place. Somewhere clean. No name, no trail back to me."

"I'll find one tonight." He opened the laptop again. "The casino?"

"Missed."
"I'm not chasing Romano all over Vegas hoping for another five seconds. I need to be inside."

Rook was already typing. He pulled up Romano Group security, then the estate listings, scrolling past the usual driver and gate guard posts. Valentina watched his eyes stop.

"Here."

He turned the screen. Romano Estate. Recruiting for personal security.

She read it twice. "Bodyguards."

"Gets you in the house. Maybe even on his detail if you're good."

She scrolled down to the requirements and snorted. "Men only."

"Yeah, that's the catch."

She looked up at him. "Then I'll be a man."

Rook didn't argue. He never did when she sounded like that. "I'll build the identity. Papers, background, everything they'll check. You'll have to cut your hair."

"I figured." She hated that part already.

"Just passing the drills won't be enough either," he said. "There'll be fifty trained men there. You need a reason for them to pick you."

She knew where he was going. "Stage something."

"During the assessment. Someone goes for Romano, you stop it. Clean, fast, looks real."

"Find someone who won't mess up," she said. "And who can keep his mouth shut after."

"I know a guy."

"Good." She stood and picked up her bag. "Text me when the apartment's ready. And Rook?"

He looked up.

"Make the name normal. I'm not dying as some dramatic Italian movie character."

He almost smiled. "I'll see what I can do."

ROMANO ESTATE...

The recruitment was in the private training courtyard behind the mansion. A line of men stood waiting while Adrian, Kael's chief of security, went through their applications with a clipboard in his hand. Guards were posted around the edges, instructors standing off to the side watching everything.

Valentina was in the middle of them in a black suit cut for a man's frame. She'd cut her hair short that morning and hadn't stopped hating it since. The badge pinned to her chest read Valentino Rossi.

She kept her face blank and her shoulders straight like Rook told her. All she had to do was not look like a woman trying to kill their boss.

"Next group," Adrian called out. "Let's see what you've got."

It started with drills. Running, push-ups, basic defensive moves with the instructors. Valentina held back just enough. She wasn't about to flop around like an idiot and get sent home, but showing everything she could do on day one would have been even stupider.

Kael walked into the courtyard halfway through.

She noticed him before most of the others did. He didn't announce himself, he just stepped out from the side entrance adjusting his cuff, watching the assessments like he was bored already.

Then a man by the gate moved.

He broke away from the two guards near him and came straight for Kael, and Valentina saw the blade in his hand before anyone shouted.

"Mr. Romano!"

The guards were already reacting but he was too close and too fast. She moved without thinking about the plan anymore.

She caught his wrist mid-swing and twisted. The knife hit the pavement. She drove her shoulder into him and took him down hard, keeping him pinned with her knee until the guards got there and dragged him off her.

Kael was staring at the man on the ground. Then he looked at her.

Valentina let go and stood up, straightening her jacket. Her heart was beating too fast but she kept her face where it needed to be.

Adrian rushed over. "Are you all right, sir?"

"I'm fine." Kael didn't even look at him. "What's your name?"

"Valentino Rossi, sir."

He studied her for a moment longer than was comfortable. "Good reflexes, Rossi."

"Thank you, sir."

"Question him," he told Adrian. "I want to know who he is and how the f**k he got past security."

"Yes, sir."

Kael turned like he was done with it, then stopped and looked back at her again. "Put Rossi on my personal detail."

What the f**k?

She hadn't expected him to hand her the position because Rook's staged attacker actually worked that well.

She kept her mouth shut.

"Understood, sir," Adrian said.

Kael nodded and headed back toward the mansion. Valentina watched him go, trying not to look too pleased about it. The devil had just opened his front door and waved her in.

"Rossi."

Adrian came up beside her. "Stay close to Mr. Romano. You'll get your full instructions shortly."

"Yes, sir."

He walked off to deal with the man still being held by the guards. Valentina turned to follow Kael inside.

A red dot bloomed on the front of her suit.

She froze.

Before she could move or trace the direction of the sniper, Kael turned back. He saw it the same second she did.

"Move!"

He grabbed her by the waist and yanked her into him. A shot cracked through the courtyard and chipped the stone pillar right where she'd been standing.

His arm was tight around her, holding her against his side behind the pillar while his men scattered for cover and started yelling out positions.

That shot wasn't for Kael. It had been aimed at her chest.

Kael pulled her further back, his eyes scanning the roofs around them. Then his hand tightened on her waist.

He frowned. He glanced down, just briefly, like something didn't add up.

How the hell could a man's waist be so f**king slim?

Make me whole

Brahms tried to steer but the car didn’t respond. He had been trying it for three minutes now with no avail.

“The car is hacked. I can’t control it,” Brahms announced.

“Hacked? What do you mean hacked? I thought Mikaela took care of Venom’s hackers,” she said.

“Yeah. What’s going on, Raymond!” He tapped his earphone but no response.

“There’s no signal. F**k. Where is it taking us to?”

“Oh God,” Elsa muttered when the car sped up.

Brahms finally got connected to Raymond but unfortunately, Raymond wasn’t wearing his earphone.

“Ray! Ray, do you copy?”

…no response…

“Ray, c’mon, respond!”

…no response…

“Is he alright? I just hope he’s alright,” Elsa muttered.

Brahms’s eyes widened when he saw where they are heading.

…The sea?!…

He tried opening the door but to no avail. Even the window was locked completely. If they happen to fall into the sea then they’ll both die.

~~~~
Lucas groaned out in pain. His body began to feel weird. The stab wasn’t ordinary. He looked up and found Raymond smirking down at him.
“W…W…what did y…you do?” he asked but blood came out of his lips. “Argh!” His chest tightened, giving him a hellish pain.
“What do you think? That knife was specially made for you,” Raymond said, dipping his bloody hands into his pocket.
“P…oi…son?” Lucas asked, his eyes turning red.
“Hmm. I got it from Lisa. The poison would only make you feel extreme pain and make you suffer for a while,” he said.
Lucas’s face squeezed in so much pain. His tongue felt numb and his head spun so badly.
“S…stop the p…pain,” Lucas muttered, losing consciousness.
Raymond sighed and looked back. His eyes widened seeing the car.
Raymond grabbed his earphone and put it on.
“Ray… answer, goddammit! We are about to die here!!” Brahms yelled.
“I’m on it,” Raymond replied.
“We are close to the cliff. We’ll fall in less than a minute!” Brahms yelled quickly.
‘Seconds left, Ray!’ his mind screamed.
“Stop the car,” Raymond said quickly.
“Yes, sir,” Cyborg replied.
The car suddenly stopped as they almost fell. Half of the car was on the ground while half was hanging on the cliff.
“Brahms, you alright?” Raymond asked.
“F**k no. We are hanging. Any movement from us would kill us both!” Brahms yelled.
“Ray!” He heard Elsa’s voice.
“Those close to the area where the car is, find a way to save the people there immediately. If they die then you’re f**ked,” Raymond ordered. Immediately, men around the area began to search for the car.
“Connect me to the car,” Raymond ordered Cyborg and he obliged.
“Hey, Snow.” A voice sounded in the car.
“Wait, isn’t that Venom’s voice?” Brahms’s eyes widened.
“No, it’s me, Ray… I’m in Lucas’s secret room… You guys will be rescued soon, I promise,” Raymond said.
“Ray, I’m glad you’re okay,” Elsa said breathlessly.
The car shifted and they both screamed.
“Guys, don’t move, okay? Just stay still.”
“Raymond, I’m scared,” Elsa said fearfully.
“Hey, babe. Yunno I love you, right, and I’m never going to allow anything to happen to you. Besides, I wanna go to the rollercoaster once again with you,” he said.
“Really? I hope you won’t be screaming your ass out?” Elsa chuckled.
“I’ll try not to scream but you have to hold me tight, okay? I wanna rest my head on those b***s of yours,” he said.
“Oh Gawd.” Elsa laughed lightly.
“Okay, there’s a third person here. Can you both stop?” Brahms said.
“Gosh, Brahms. Can’t you see I’m trying to calm her down? How about you go find your own girl to calm you?” Raymond said.
“Ha… I forgot to mention this. I actually told Mr. Adams that I want Elsa to be my wife.” Brahms smirked. Elsa and Raymond’s eyes widened at once.
“What did you just say?” Raymond asked.
“You heard me. I’m not gonna repeat myself.” Brahms smiled.
“Okay, you just earned yourself a good beating. Make sure you don’t show yourself ’cause I’m gonna cut your balls.”
“Why would you ask that kind of request, Brahms?” Elsa asked, raising her brow at him.
“I was just doing it to p**s Raymond off.” Brahms shrugged.
“Oh, I’m gonna kill you. How do you want your death? Knife, gun or being burned alive?” Raymond asked.
“Keep dreaming… f**k!” Brahms exclaimed when the car moved again.
“Where are they, Ray? Why is it taking so long?” Elsa asked, shutting her eyes closed.
A car drove to the area. Zeke, Dagon and some men rushed down from the car. They hung a strong chain behind the car, connecting it to a huge truck.
“They are here,” Brahms said, hearing some sound.
“Thank God.” Raymond breathed out.
Just then, the car moved to fall completely...
~~~~

Just before it did, the chain held it.

“Argh!” Elsa screamed. The belt holding her cut and she fell, breaking the glass using her body. She was fast enough to stretch her arm and Brahms caught her.

“Elsa!” Raymond called.

“I’ve got her, Ray.” Brahms managed to utter through those gritted teeth.

Brahms’s belt also cut but he was fast enough to grab the car, his other hand still holding Elsa.

He managed to pull Elsa up and she grabbed the car too.

The truck was moved backwards, dragging the car up until they were back on the land.

“They are fine now,” Zeke informed Raymond.

“Yes!” Raymond raised both hands in the air. “Gawd, I was so scared.” He swept his hair backwards before looking back at unconscious Lucas.

His eyes landed on a special earphone just beside the control buttons. He wore it.

“Hello, Black Venom.” A female programmed voice sounded.

“Hello?” Raymond frowned.

“What can I do for you?” the voice asked.

Raymond looked around before speaking. “Show me all the secrets kept in here,” he muttered.

Thousands of folders began to appear on the screen. Raymond’s lips parted in surprise.

One folder caught his attention. ‘Victoria Hampton.’ He clicked on it and a video appeared. The footage shows how the prime minister ordered his sister’s death. The video of how his sister was r***d. Tears streamed down his eyes and he stopped the video.

He clicked a footage having his name on it. The video of how they took his fingerprints, his sweat, his s***m and even his hair to tamper with the scene.

He asked for Charlie and when she was connected, he spoke.

“We are going to need the media again.”

°°°

~HOURS LATER~

Raymond looked at the big building in front of him and then unconscious Lucas who was kept in the car.

He got into his car and started it. After driving a little bit further, the building blew off completely, burning every single thing inside. Both the dead bodies and technology burnt down to ashes.

“Did you see the news?”

“Oh my God, the prime minister?”

“Sandra had been in jail for a sin she didn’t commit.”

“Oh my God, there are so many dirty secrets.”

“Thank God, their evil deeds are exposed.”

“They framed innocent people.”

Some innocent prisoners who saw this smiled. Some were even jumping because they would be released.

…Footage and voice notes were released…

Newton dropped the metal bucket in his hand and jumped so high. He even pecked one of the police’s cheeks.

“Sorry,” he said quickly when the police glared at him.

“Justice at last,” Wilson muttered.

Raymond only released the relevant ones and destroyed the irrelevant ones like the nudes of the judge’s daughter.

The news was everywhere in the different countries. Police began to arrest the corrupt officials. The judge, the chief of police, the nurse, the prime minister, and many more of them.

Elsa sat on her spot. She hadn’t seen Raymond yet. There was a thick fabric wrapped around her shoulder. She was at the hospital.

“Waiting for me?” She heard his familiar voice and looked up at him.

She jumped and hugged him tightly. He returned the hug and kissed her hair lightly.

“I was so scared,” she muttered against his chest while sobbing lightly.

“Me too, babe,” Raymond replied honestly.

“You’re under arrest for attempted murder and some other crimes,” a police said, putting handcuffs on Jeremy.

Piper’s face was cold as they dragged him out.

“Wait!” Elsa called, running towards the police. They stopped.

“I just need to tell him something.” Elsa smiled then faced Jeremy. The police nodded and let go of him.

“Elsa… I can…”

His words were cut short with a punch reaching his face. He fell heavily and Elsa climbed on him, throwing punches repeatedly on his face.

“Oh sh*t.” Raymond’s eyes widened seeing it.

The police tried to drag her away from Jeremy but she yelled…

“Let go of me! I need to destroy that butthead’s face!” She yelled, dragging his hair this time. By now, Jeremy’s face was unrecognizable with blood and a swollen face.

Raymond wrapped his built arm around her waist and dragged her away. Elsa swung her leg, kicking Jeremy again.

“I wanna kill him!” Elsa yelled as Raymond put her over his shoulder.

“I love you, sis!!” Piper yelled, smiling brightly. She loved the scene.

“Piper!” Mason called her from behind.

“Baby!” She squealed, running to hug and kiss him.

“You’ve treated your wounds?” Mason asked.

“Oh yes I did. I wanna drink with you tonight,” Piper said, kissing him again.

“Okay.” Charlie chuckled. “I guess Elsa is my sister-in-law now,” she said.

“It’s cool,” Leonard muttered.

“Leonard.” Mr. Miller called from behind and they both looked back just to see his parents with a sorry look.

“I’m so sorry about what we did. We shouldn’t have forced you into what you don’t want. Can you please forgive us?” Mrs. Miller said.

“We accept your marriage with Charlie. She’s amazing,” Mr. Miller said.

Charlie smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear.

“Thanks,” Leonard said.

“By the way, Charlie, I would like you to sign into Mizel Entertainment Industry. There are a lot of offers for you,” Mr. Miller said.

Charlie’s eyes rolled back and she pretended to almost fall. Leonard caught her and laughed lightly, staring at her face.

“Am I dreaming?” she muttered.

“No, you’re not, wife.” Leonard chuckled at her childish behavior.

“Wow,” she muttered.

“We should announce our marriage. I wanna make children with you,” Leonard said, kissing her lips.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller smiled at each other.

“Thanks, friend,” Dagon said to Mikaela. His hands were handcuffed since he had killed a lot of innocent people too.

“I’ll visit you from time to time,” Mikaela said, hugging him briefly before the police dragged him away.

“That’s weird,” Ben said from behind.

“I know but he’s good inside,” Mikaela said while Ben frowned.

“Not for me,” Ben muttered.

“So what are you doing next?” she asked.

“I have to go back to Jamaica. I need to check on my mom. I’ll be there for a while. I’ll reach you when I’m back. What about you?”

“Wilson asked me to join the CIA because of my talent.” She squealed, jumping.

“Cool. Congrats.”

“You can join too.”

“Nah, I’m fine. I’m a n***a on the street and I love it that way.”

“So when are you leaving?”

“After Mr. Adams’s burial,” he replied.

Brahms went to meet Raymond who was chatting with Elsa.

“Hey,” he greeted and they both looked up. “I’m glad we did it. You’re a true leader, Raymond.”

“You did a great job too,” Raymond said.

“I’d like us to have a drink together tonight,” Brahms suggested.

“Sure, brother.”

“Brother. I like the sound of that.” Brahms smiled and they both hugged.

Zeke also appeared. “Hi. Uhm, I owe you an apology, Raymond… I’m sorry I disappeared like that.”

“It’s alright,” Raymond said, wrapping his arm around Elsa.

Natasha watched the machine beeping as Jake laid unconscious.

‘He’s fine now. It’s just going to take a few days before he wakes up.’ She recalled the doctor’s words and smiled.

A middle-aged woman walked into the ward. Her eyes were on Jake. Natasha stood up, recognizing her.

“How is my son?” the woman asked.

***

~GRAVEYARD~

Mrs. Brown kept on staring at the brick stone having the name ‘MARK ADAMS’ written on it.

“I’m sure he’s at peace right now,” she spoke when she felt Raymond’s hands on her shoulder.

“Yeah, he is. Look, I wanna thank you for being the best mother I’ve ever seen. You’re the real hero here. If you hadn’t been in my life then none of this would have happened. You never left because of my mistakes. Instead you guided me through the right path. We wouldn’t have been this victorious if it wasn’t for you.”

Mrs. Brown’s heart swelled listening to his words. Her eyes teared up.

“I love you so much, momma,” he said, kissing her forehead.

They both went back to meet the others.

Brahms also greeted Mrs. Brown as they all have no grudges against each other. Lisa was also buried and was paid respect too.

***

Lucas laid on the floor, his hands folded in between his knees. He looked leaner than before, his face pale and looked weak.

The gate opened and some people stepped in. He shifted and looked up at them. Raymond, Natasha and his dad.

“J…just k…ill me,” he managed to utter.

“Trust me, I badly want to but…” Natasha let out a light breath. “I’m not like you,” she said.

“R…Ray… just k…kill me,” he stuttered.

“Nah… I want you to stay alive and watch us live. Death is a small punishment for you…”

“D…dad,” he stuttered, crying.

Mr. Charles also started crying. “I’m sorry, son. I won’t leave you alone this time. I’ll be there for you… I promise.”

Just after his words, some doctors came in. Those handling people with mental disorders.

“No…oo.” Lucas shook his head as they handcuffed him.

~THREE YEARS LATER~

Raymond rushed into the hospital, breathing heavily. He heard his wife was in the labor room. Yes! His wife. They got married two years ago and she got pregnant after fulfilling her dream of becoming a famous singer with millions of fans.

The country was peaceful with Lucas still under strong surveillance with his dad checking on him as promised.

“Where is she?!” He grabbed a nurse.

“W…ward… 32…” the nurse stuttered, recognizing him as a famous painting artist owning the most famous art gallery in California.

Raymond rushed there and burst in without even wasting a moment.

There he saw his wife with a baby in her arms.

“A boy! Bruh, it’s a boy!” Jake jumped to hug him. After waking up, he married Natasha. Brahms was the one who paid for his mom’s surgery and was currently in New York still a Mafia.

“F**k!” Raymond covered his lips as tears rolled down his cheek. Elsa chuckled, holding her son’s tiny hand.

Leonard’s hands were around Charlie’s waist as he carried his own daughter Sarah. Charlie is a manager in the Mizel Entertainment Industry while Leonard is the CEO of his dad’s company.

“I can’t believe this.” He swept his hair backwards and went to kiss Elsa deeply on her lips.

“I love you so much, Elsa.”

“I love you too. He looks a lot like you, especially the emerald eyes,” she said, grinning beautifully.

Mrs. Brown also came in and screamed out her lungs.

“Imma f**king grandmother!!” She screamed around the hospital while others laughed.

“I see why she’s your mother,” Piper said. She is now in college and still in a relationship with Mason.

“Hey, look, it’s Ben.” Leonard said, opening a video call with Ben.

“Oh my Gawd, Ray!! How could you have given birth before me!!” Ben yelled.

“That’s your problem, bro, not mine.” Raymond shrugged, looking back at the child.

“I’m coming back to California tomorrow to see little Raymond Adams!” Ben said.

Brahms, Zeke and Mikaela also said they are coming tomorrow.

“Tell them not to come and choke my wife.” Raymond sighed.

Mrs. Brown came back, breathing hard after screaming around the hospital.

“He’s… so… cute!” She exclaimed, breathing hard.

“Yes he is.”

“He wants to be in his dad’s arms for a while,” Elsa said.

“He might drop him,” Jake said but Natasha hit his head.

Raymond slowly took the baby in his hands. Smiling, he felt like the happiest person in the world right now. He sat beside Elsa and looked at her.

“Let’s name him Alfred,” Raymond muttered. “You like it?” he asked Elsa.

“I love it,” she smiled.

“Thank you for making me whole, baby,” he muttered, drawing his face close to hers.

Their lips met as they both exchanged the words.

I LOVE YOU.
