Kia ora,

I am a speech-language therapist and am interested in what helps Deaf or hard of hearing children learn to talk/sign. You are invited to complete my anonymous survey if you are aged 18 years or older and are a parent/caregiver of a Deaf or hard of hearing child aged 0 to 5 years, living in New Zealand. The survey will contribute toward my Master of Audiology research at the Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha - the University of Canterbury. If you or anyone you know match this description, I would greatly appreciate it if you could complete/share my survey.

Jayne has just submitted her PhD thesis based on the first 79 participants! Two more PhD students have just had their proposals accepted to conduct further studies on this cohort of children!

04/07/2014

We have seen the majority of the children back again now for their assessments. Thanks heaps everyone for your commitment. Just a few more children to see over the next few months.

A stunning effort from the first 78 families!! We have seen the first half of the children again to measure their language outcomes. VERY interesting!! Big thanks for the effort parents went to to be available before Christmas. From February we will start seeing the second half of the children for their reassessments...

30/07/2013

First two children have come back and completed their part in the study. It is most exciting and interesting to see how they are doing now!

14/06/2013

Next month we will excitedly welcome our first child back for her final assessment in the study after an 18 month delay!

27/09/2012

The study is in full swing again with plenty of little people coming in everyday :-)
