Every day, volunteer fire brigades across Aotearoa show up for their communities — any time, every time.

They’re there when the siren sounds 🚨 but their contribution goes far beyond emergency response. They visit our schools, support local events, lend a hand when times are tough and help make our communities stronger.

Now it’s your turn to show up for them ❤️

To celebrate International Volunteer Year 2026, the UFBA has launched our Brigade of the Year 2026 campaign, and we want to hear what makes your local volunteer fire brigade special.

Maybe they have incredible team spirit.
Or maybe you simply want to acknowledge all the times they’ve shown up for you and your community.

📅 Nominations close Sunday 11 October.

🏆 Three brigades will be named Brigade of the Year 2026 for the Small, Medium and Large Brigade categories and receive a trophy and vouchers to support the brigade and its members. The winners will be announced at the UFBA's Conference Hui on 25 October.

Our Brigade is ecstatic to share the generosity of Promote Dunstan.
This amazing contribution will go a long way to help us serve and protect our awesome community 🥰

It is with great sadness we say farewell to a popular and loved member of our Brigade. Operational Support member Richard Ryan passed in the early hours of the morning after a courageous battle.
We will support the family by hosting his celebration of life.

*** Funeral will be held at Clyde Fire Station 1pm Thursday 18th June ***

Rest easy now Richard, thank you for your dedicated service to your community. ❤️🚒

Today we were blessed to be presented $10,000 to fund additional equipment to help us protect our community.
A massive thanks to Ryan and Marco from Earnscleugh Castle and Clyde & Districts Lions Club who organized open days at the Castle with all proceeds being shared by us and Animal Rehab ($10K each). It was a fantastic morning tea at the station while we all thanked each other for our contributions to our community.
Clyde Brigade is proud to be part of this fantastic area full of fantastic people.

Meet the latest members of our Brigade. 🥰
These wee fellas help us at incidents where our younger members of the community need some comforting. Nothing better in the world than holding (and getting to keep) a new cuddly friend.
Massive thanks to the talented folk in Clyde and Districts Lions Club who created and kindly donated them to us.
These wee fellas will play an important role in managing traumatic events.
