Our Cust crew will be joining the Swannanoa crew at 3.30am, walking through to Cust Station.

After a quick break and breakfast, Rangiora Brigade will join us at Cust, and we’ll all hit the road again at 7.20am, heading for Rangiora. 🚒🥾

So if you see us out there — give us a toot, give us a wave, come out and cheer us on… or even better, GIVE US YOUR CASH! 😂💰

🚒 WALK FOR SARAH – TEAM CUST IS GETTING BEHIND IT ❤️

This Friday, Cust Volunteer Fire Brigade will be proud to get in behind our neighbours at Swannanoa and show our support for Sarah.

A good crew from Cust will be pulling on the gear for the 3.30am–7.00am leg, walking from Swannanoa Station through to Cust Station. Once we arrive, we’ll be putting on breakfast before Rangiora Brigade joins in and carries the walk on towards Rangiora.

It’s all about brigades coming together and supporting one of our own when it matters. ❤️

🚨 BACKING SARAH | 18–19 SEPTEMBER 🚨
One of our neighbouring firefighters, Sarah, is facing a serious health battle, and we are rallying behind her.

Friday 18 Sept: Firefighters are walking between Swannanoa, Cust, Rangiora, Sefton, and Kaiapoi stations in FULL KIT to raise funds.

Saturday 19 Sept: Charity car wash at Mandeville Village.

A huge congratulations to Station Officers Johnny Riley and Stephen Withers on successfully completing the Volunteer Brigade Leadership Course.

This advanced course focuses on developing leadership, decision-making, and officer capabilities, with participants challenged through a range of realistic, simulated emergency scenarios.

Strong leadership is essential to maintaining a healthy, effective brigade and ensuring we continue to deliver vital fire and emergency services to our community.

Within Fire and Emergency New Zealand, members have access to a structured pathway of leadership and development courses as they progress through the ranks. While Cust Volunteer Fire Brigade already has a strong leadership team, Johnny and Stephen's commitment to ongoing learning and keeping up to date with the latest leadership and coaching practices demonstrates the professionalism and dedication they bring to the brigade. They continue to set a fantastic example for our members and the wider community.

Tomorrows the day! Cust brigade members Aidan, Paul and Jeremy will be climbing stairs as they take in the Sky Tower Challenge in full kit to raise funds and awareness for Blood Cancer New Zealand.
