Kia ora whanau,
Today we are celebrating Te Rā o Tumeke Tumuaki – Principal’s Day, a special day held across Aotearoa to recognise and thank the amazing principals who lead our schools.
The word tumeke means awesome or great, and tumuaki means principal. Today we want to acknowledge and celebrate Mrs Fraser for the care, leadership, vision and dedication she gives to our school community every single day.
Because she has a love of nature, we have chosen to gift her small treasures from the natural world. Each class has selected an item that represents a special quality we see in her leadership – the way she encourages us, supports us, helps us grow, and leads our school with kindness and strength.
As each class shares their gift, these treasures will be placed into a kete. We hope this kete can remain in her office as a visual reminder of the appreciation, respect and gratitude we have for all that she does for our tamariki, staff and wider school community.
