Baking Adventures with Nan 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Our Kākano class had a fantastic time in the kitchen last week! The tamariki chose to make rainbow shortbread, and wow, did they turn out extremely colourful and incredibly yummy.
Every fortnight, we see their confidence growing more and more. They are becoming absolute pros in the kitchen!

This term, they are working on their awesome cooking skills by:
* Mastering the use of measuring cups and spoons.
* Learning and practicing safe knife skills.
* Practicing patience and taking turns beautifully.
* Reading the recipe and understanding the importance of following instructions.
* And most importantly, having an absolute blast while trying new things!

A huge thank you to our amazing Nan for guiding them.

A huge congratulations to our super stars over the past two weekends. We have tamariki getting tackler of the day, player of the day, tearing it up on motorbike tracks and even getting placements in Kidz Kartz. It is great to see the determination, courage, teamwork and integrity you all have shown!

It’s National Firefighter Day, and we want to take a moment to say a massive THANK YOU to all of New Zealand’s incredible firefighters.
From career crews to the dedicated volunteers who give up their time to keep our communities safe, we appreciate you more than words can say. A special shoutout to our amazing Kaponga volunteers, who are always there when it matters most.
We are also thankful for the parents of some of our past and present students who serve in the fire service, your dedication both at home and in the community is truly inspiring, and we are so grateful for everything you do.
Your commitment, bravery, and selflessness do not go unnoticed. We are incredibly lucky to have you all supporting our community.
Looking back at these photos reminds us just how lucky we are to have this incredible station and with Fire Wise coming up at school soon, we’re hoping to add some new photos to the collection this year 😄
