🙌 Help us get ready for re-opening!

Can you help us get the Lyttelton Toy Library ready to reopen in Spring?
If you can spare a few hours, we'd love to hear from you 🫶

We are looking for early-bird members to help with:

✨Sorting toys and moving larger items into our new space over the coming weeks.
✨ Sourcing and researching new toys.
✨ Facilitating the first borrowing sessions.

We are also looking for people to become committee members and be apart of the core team and help with regular operational tasks. Committee members get free memberships & free borrowing of all toys!

Save the date! Toy Library sign up & play session!
September 18th 3pm - 5pm

We are excited to share that we will be open for a play and sign-up session at the launch event for Lyttel Sanctuary at the Chapel - 40 Wi******er Street, Lyttelton.

Come along to celebrate the launch of this incredible community space, meet & greet and sign up to the Lyttelton Toy Library. We will have some of our big toys out for play.

🪀Toy Library Update! 🛝

We are excited to share that the Lyttelton Toy Library will be reopening this spring!
A small group of people got together to save the toys and keep this much-loved community resource running.

In the past few months we’ve been busy – here’s some of the mahi we’ve been doing behind
the scenes;
👉Registered Lyttelton Toy Library as an Incorporated Society
👉Applied for and received grants to fund the reforming of Lyttelton Toy Library
👉 Organised the toys and sought premises for long term functionality of our toy collection
👉 Carried out a survey to shape this new chapter of the Lyttelton Toy Library

We’ll have some more updates on membership and how to join coming up soon!

TOY SALE IS CANCELLED
Sale scheduled for this Saturday 11th April is cancelled due to a community group stepping up to take on the Toy Library!

EDIT: Sale CANCELLED as TOY LIBRARY will open under another group shortly.
We'll be having a big sell-off. Everything going super cheap....

Saturday 11th April 10am - 12pmRear of the Recreation Centre - Behind Albion SquareAND40 Wi******er StreetAll toys need to go so we'll be selling them off super cheap. Most toys will go for a gold coin donation. Nothing over $10. Cash sales on the day.

One door closes, and another one opens.

The Lyttelton Toy Library will be running its final session on Saturday 21st March under the banner of Project Lyttelton.

This does however leave an opening for opportunity for another individual or group to take on the library. The toys will need to be moved to new premises in the next couple of months.

If you know someone who is willing to take on this project in a voluntary fashion, or as their own community business endeavour, please get in touch to discuss.

Failing that, we'll be having a giant TOY SALE in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for bargains.

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support over the years, but it's time to give this library wings!
