The Moutere Hills RSA Memorial Library, known locally as the Māpua Community Library, is a volunteer operated and managed community library. We are privileged to occupy a purpose-built building which is conveniently and centrally located on Aranui Road in Māpua. Happy Long Weekend! 👑 Note, we’re open this Saturday and Sunday, 2.00-4.30pm, closed Monday. We’ll have modified, winter hours from Tuesday.

Beginning next week. Winter is coming (believe it or not 😉).❄️ We will be closed next Monday, 1 June, for King’s Birthday, then our winter hours begin through June, July & August. Come stock up for cosy reads by the fire.📚

Lest we forget.❤️ The ANZAC Day Service will be held at 10.45am outside the Māpua RSA Memorial Library (our official name) following the Parade down Aranui Road.

Times via the TDC website are as follows:

Parade: 10:30am, by the tennis courts.
Service: 10.45am at Māpua RSA Memorial Library.

Road closure: 10:30am - 11:30am Aranui Road, from Higgs Road to the tennis courts.

Happy Shakespeare Day! ✍️ William Shakespeare was born this day in 1564–and died this same day in 1616 at age 52.

Despite his fame, much mystery surrounds the bard, and Bill Bryson’s book is a very digestible read covering some of the theories surrounding Shakespeare and his plays, as well as his influence on how English is spoken. Available in our Non-fiction section.🎭

Lest we forget.❤️ It’s that time of year when the library walls are festooned with our extraordinary poppy art, honouring those who served and continue to serve. We’ll be closed ANZAC Day and the following Monday (open Sunday), but drop in this week to enjoy our book and wall displays, and perhaps sit and knit a poppy to add to our collection.🧶
