Our creek fence is being upgraded over the next few weeks. This means that we will have fencers working on the property. Most of the area North of the Rangitata block and along the length of the playing field on the North side is temporarly fenced and out of bounds. This starts from the main vehicle entrance to the playground. Please note that this vehicle and pedestrian entrance from Halstead Road will not be accessible while the work is happening. It has a yellow caution banner across it. Please use other gates for the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your support with this.

We had an amazing "Points Got Talent Today." Our winner, Knox, blew us out of the water with the beauty and resonance of his singing. Enjoy!

Weekly Round-Up Up Week 3
This week the Yr 7/8 students took part in the Weston Sports Interchange. The day ran smoothly and the kids had a great time. This year Point Primary came out victorious! We look forward to next year and doing it all over again. A big thanks to Miss Gaskin for all your organisation making this happen.

Our savouries from the fundraiser got delivered this week. We were able to raise $1,606 for the school through this. A massive thank you to the parents who at the last minute came in to help organise all the orders and get them to the right place. A special shout out to Rochelle Hastie who not only helped out with this but also cooked the sausage sizzle prior. What an amazing community we have.

Next Friday we will be participating in Pink Shirt Day. Kids can come to school wearing pink and raise awareness for this great cause. - Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying

Term 2 Week 1 Round Up!
We have had a great start back to school and it has been full on straight away with our Yr 5 & 6's going away on camp to Mt Hutt! The tamariki participated in a wide range of activities and have all come back happy (and a bit tired!). Luckily we have a long weekend for them to recover and recharge ready for week 2.

We started our weekly sausage sizzle up again this week. A big thank you to Phillipa McLeod for taking charge and cooking this week!

Waitaki 1 lead the way in our welcome back assembly on Monday and taught the school some sign language that they have been learning. What an amazing job they are doing!

The school has received new speakers, sports equipment and a PA system this week which we were able to get through the "Fuel for Schools" programme. This lead to an impromptu dance break in the office lead by our student council! If you order bulk fuel from Fern Energy you can nominate our school and we get 50c from every 100L purchased. It all adds up and means we can buy much needed resources for our kura. Thank you to everyone who participates in this programme already.

And thats a wrap for Term 1!!

This week we had students participate in the PCT challenge which was a lot of fun, said goodbye to Harold and the Life Education Van and finished the week off with our Celebration Assembly acknowledging some students who have had some outstanding results lately not only in the classroom but in the wider community including the South Canterbury Triathlon and Swimming Sports.

This week we also said goodbye to our incredible caretaker Jason Bolitho. Jason has done such an amazing job over the last couple of years and whipped the school grounds into shape. We wish you the best for your home renovation journey and hope you come back to visit often!

We also farewelled (hopefully not forever) our teacher aide Ben and Mr Sharp as they set off to the UK for their next adventure. We wish you both well and hope to see you back at school soon!

Happy and safe holidays everyone!
