We are pleased to advise that the team from Oxford Women’s Health are once again able to provide women’s health clinics here at Amuri Community Health.

Simon Jones will hold clinics every two months on a Friday afternoon commencing Friday 4th Sept 2026.

DONT WAIT : CHECK YOUR PROSTATE

If you are a man in aged 40-60yrs you should be prioritising a regular Prostate Health Check. You take your car for its annual WOF, so dont forget about yourself!!
September is Prostate Awareness Month in NZ, a time to remind our loved ones that it’s their time to get up to date.
Prostate cancer can develop quietly with or without symptoms, but if detected early can be cured. It is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in New Zealand affecting 1 in 8 men.
The checks involve a chat to a clinician, followed by an examination and likely a blood test. We are proactive about it around here and encourage you to book this in. Call us on 033156328 to arrange a GP or NP appointment.

The Canterbury Region and beyond is currently under attack from this virus with huge numbers of patients affected regionally.

Stay home if you are unwell; rest and increase your fluids; good hand hygiene; cover coughs and sneezes with masks. It is tough to battle we know, and we can guide you through your illness.

It is not too late to vaccinate - this season’s vaccine is a good match for the circulating strains.

💥It has been slow to burst out of the starting blocks but Flu Season is in full force locally at present. 🦠We are seeing an increased presentation of Cold and Flu like symptoms in the clinic and community, with strains of the Influenza Virus very much circulating around. 🌡️
We ask you all to be vigilant with hygiene here and around others with plenty of masks if you need to coverup while visiting the clinic.
Careful where you go with your bugs, and be mindful of the vulnerable folks out there. 🦠
We have a good supply of Flu Vaccines available, many of you will be eligible for these for free including all our Under 18yr olds here at Amuri Health.
