Air Niugini has delayed the return of its Port Moresby to Auckland service with the launch now expected in September 2026 instead of June.
The airline had planned to restart flights from Port Moresby as early as 11 June but the latest schedule update shows a new target date of 1 September 2026. The route is set to operate three times per week using a Boeing 737-800 although tickets are not yet on sale.
This route has not seen regular service since 1998, making its return a notable step for the airline’s international network.
The planned schedule shows morning departures from Auckland and mid-morning departures from Port Moresby, offering daytime connections in both directions. For now, the launch remains tentative as the airline has yet to open bookings for passengers.
