LOOK | Personnel of the City Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (CECU) Butuan, under the leadership of PEMS Dennis B. Duro, Team Leader, immediately rendered police assistance after witnessing a vehicular accident involving a passenger multi-cab and a motorcycle along JC Aquino Avenue, Barangay Libertad, Butuan City.

The responding personnel promptly secured the accident scene, managed the flow of traffic, and ensured the safety of motorists and pedestrians to prevent further incidents and minimize disruption to the public. The incident was subsequently coordinated and properly turned over to Butuan City Police Station 3 for appropriate investigation and disposition.

This immediate and proactive response reflects the unwavering commitment of the Philippine National Police to public safety, swift service, and community protection—demonstrating that true public service extends beyond the call of duty.

Making a bomb joke or issuing a false bomb threat is a serious offense under Presidential Decree No. 1727, also known as the Anti-Bomb Joke Law.

Penalty:

Up to 5 years imprisonment, or a fine of up to PhP 40,000.00, or both.

Spreading false bomb threats is not a joke, it is a crime.

The City Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (CECU) Butuan led by PEMS Dennis B Duro, Team Leader, rendered a courtesy visit to Engr. Junelito Abrazado, CAAP Area 12 Manager, at the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Office, Butuan Airport, Barangay Bancasi, Butuan City.

The activity aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and enhance coordination in ensuring the safety and security of Butuan Airport. Through continuous partnership and open communication, CECU Butuan and CAAP reaffirm their shared commitment to protecting the public and maintaining a safe and secure environment for all airport users.

This initiative supports the PNP Focused Agenda on Community Support by fostering stronger partnerships with key stakeholders in promoting public safety and security.

LOOK | In line with the Philippine National Police's Focused Agenda on Community Support, personnel of the City Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (CECU) Butuan, led by Team Leader PEMS Dennis B. Duro, EODT, under the direct supervision of PMAJ KAROL JOSEPH A. RICAFORT, OIC, RECU13, conducted a Project A.B.K.D. (Awareness of Bombs that Kill Lives and Destroy Properties) lecture for the Senior High School students (Afternoon Session) of Butuan City Colleges, Incorporated, in coordination with the school administration.

The lecture aimed to enhance the students' awareness of bomb-related threats by providing essential knowledge on bomb recognition, appropriate actions during bomb threat incidents, and the importance of remaining vigilant. Participants were likewise encouraged to promptly report any suspicious persons, objects, or activities to the proper authorities to help prevent potential security threats.

Through sustained community-based information and education campaigns such as Project A.B.K.D., CECU Butuan remains steadfast in promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and public vigilance, while strengthening partnerships with educational institutions in building safer and more resilient communities.

The City Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (CECU) Butuan led by PEMS Dennis B Duro, Team Leader, and with direct supervision of PMAJ KAROL JOSEPH A RICAFORT, OIC, RECU13, successfully conducted a Project A.B.K.D. (Awareness of Bombs that Kill Life and Destroy Properties) Lecture for the management and employees of Almont Inland Hotel and Restaurant.

The activity aimed to enhance participants' awareness of explosive threats by discussing bomb recognition, bomb threat management, proper response procedures, and the vital role of first responders in ensuring public safety. The lecture also emphasized vigilance, preparedness, and the importance of promptly reporting suspicious objects or activities to authorities.

Through continuous information and education campaigns, CECU Butuan remains committed to strengthening community resilience and promoting a culture of safety and security in support of the PNP Focused Agenda on community engagement, public safety, and proactive crime prevention.

LOOK | Personnel of the City Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (CECU) Butuan, led by Team Leader PEMS Dennis B. Duro, under the supervision of PMAJ KAROL JOSEPH A RICAFORT, OIC, RECU13, actively participated in a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) and Communication Exercise (COMEX) on a Bomb Threat scenario held at Pareja Integrated School, Barangay Bayanihan, Butuan City.

The activity was facilitated by Butuan City Police Station 3, under the leadership of PLTCOL JOSEPH G. GEMENTIZA, Station Commander, in coordination with the school administration. The exercise aimed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance emergency response capabilities, and validate established bomb threat management procedures to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and the community.
