Let's all pretend it's 10 years ago and we are all celebrating Kadasig Festival 2016.

TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE. THE STORY OF CEBU CITY'S RENOWNED KADASIG FESTIVAL.

Kadasig Festival of Barangay Apas (Cebu City)

• Linguistic Meaning: In the Cebuano dialect, "Kadasig" translates to "enthusiasm," "passion," or "liveliness."
• Significance: Celebrated every October, this is a religious and socio-cultural thanksgiving event where residents (Apasanons) offer a dance ritual to honor St. Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of hopeless cases. The enthusiasm embedded in the name reflects the saint's unwavering commitment and zeal in his faith. It celebrates the resilience, swift development, and community pride of its people through colorful street pageantry, elaborate costumes, and cultural presentations. The festival adopts a vibrant street-dancing concept similar to the famous Sinulog.

Malipayon nga nakigselebrar ang Barangay Apas Youth Development Council (BAYDC) uban sa Sitio Upper Don Bosco Youth Organization atol sa ilang malampusong Youth Night! 🎉

Mapasalamaton ang tibuok BAYDC Council sa mainitong pagdapit ug pag-abiabi sa among grupo. Dako kaayo kini nga kalipay ug dungog alang kanamo nga makig-ila, makig-uban, ug makigselebrar sa mga opisyal ug kabatan-onan sa Sitio Upper Don Bosco, Barangay Apas, Cebu City.

Usa kini ka maayong higayon aron mas mapalig-on ang panag-ubanay, panaghigalaay, ug panaghiusa sa mga organisasyon sa kabatan-onan. 💙🤍

Kauban sa maong kalihokan ang mga miyembro sa Team Ayuman ug mga opisyal sa BAYDC nga kanunay andam nga mosuporta sa mga kalihokan ug inisyatiba sa kabatan-onan sa atong barangay.

JPIA USJR COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM | CAMP LAPULAPU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Ang Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) sa University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) nakigtambayayong sa Barangay Apas Youth Development Council (BAYDC) ug ABACA-Youth Members of Central Apas, pinaagi sa ilang Chairman ug President nga si James Robert Datiles, alang sa usa ka makahuluganon nga Community Outreach Program.

Usa sa napiling benepisyaryo sa maong inisyatiba mao ang mga tinun-an ug kabataan sa Camp Lapulapu Elementary School-DepEd Region 7, sa Apas, Cebu City.

Pinaagi niini nga programa, gitagaan ang mga bata og mga gamit sa eskwelahan ug giya sa pagkat-on sa pagbasa, pagsulat, ug pagpalambo sa maayong pamatasan sama sa pagtahod, pagkamatinud-anon, pagkamabination, ug uban pang positibong values nga ilang magamit sa adlaw-adlaw nga kinabuhi.

Subay usab kini sa selebrasyon sa Bulan sa Santo Rosaryo (Rosary Month) karong Oktubre ug sa pagpangandam alang sa umaabot nga kapistahan ni St. Jude Thaddeus, usa ka maayong oportunidad sa pagpakita sa pagtuo pinaagi sa pag-alagad ug pagtabang sa isigkatawo.

Usa na usab kini ka pagpamatuod sa pasalig sa BAYDC ug ABACA-YMCA nga padayon nga magpalig-on sa panaghiusa ug pakigtambayayong sa nagkadaiyang stakeholders ug partners aron madala ang mas daghang makahuluganon nga proyekto ngadto sa komunidad.
