PANOORIN: Binigyang-diin ni Ariel Sotelo Tabag, Presidente ng GUMIL Filipinas, ang kahalagahan ng pagbabasa ng mga aklat sa sariling wika, partikular na sa Ilocano.

Ayon kay Tabag, ang pagbabasa ng mga librong Ilocano ay makatutulong sa mga kabataan na maging komportable sa paggamit ng kanilang wika, malinang ang pagmamahal sa pagbabasa, at higit na makilala ang kanilang tunay na pagkakakilanlan.

Hinikayat din niya ang publiko na magbasa ng mga akdang Ilocano upang mas mapahalagahan at mapanatili ang mayamang kultura at pagkakakilanlang Ilocano.

Ibinahagi ito ni Tabag sa unang araw ng Amianan Book Festival 2026, ngayong Biyernes, Setyembre 4, sa Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.

Digital future looks bright for DSWD-SLPA members ๐Ÿคณ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Around 240 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and members of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) across Regions I and II and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) now have improved knowledge and skills to grow their businesses and products through the social media platform TikTok.

This is part of the second leg of the SLPA Tara Live Sell (Luzon Cluster Training) initiative, a collaborative effort between the DSWD and TikTok Shopโ€™s Unlad Lokal, held at the Vigan Convention Center on September 3.

The one-day training offers more than traditional cash and food aid by focusing on vital skill-building in digital commerce, affiliate marketing, and live-selling techniques.

Moreover, the DSWD awarded P200,000 in financial aid to five SLPAs namely, Bushy SLPA of Brgy. Bungro, Magsingal; Club-D SLPA of Brgy. Patong, Magsingal; Narungbo a Bungro SLPA of Brgy. Bungro, Magsingal; PFL SLPA of Brgy. Patungcaleo, Quirino; and Madapoy Tailoring SLPA of Brgy. Patungcaleo, Quirinoโ€”to help boost their sales.

DSWD officials, led by Secretary Rex Gatchalian and represented by Director Marife Leon of the Sustainable Livelihood Program, and DSWD-1 Regional Director Marie Angela Gopalan attended the event.
