On 15 August 2026, The Olivarez College Reserve Officers' Training Corps Unit - Maharlikans (OC ROTCU), under the supervision of LTC WESLEY T CAMPILIS (QMS) PA, Commandant of the OCROTC Unit, successfully conducted its joint opening ceremony, assumption of corps commannder and oath of training staff for (MS-1) 2026-2027 , and Opening of the Basic ROTC Training (MS-1) Ceremony.

The event was held at the Olivarez College conference room, Dr. Arcadio Santos Avenue, Parañaque City, with MR ZERNAN P DIMAIWAT LLB, MAED Dean student affairs and services as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his welcome remarks, Dean Dimaiwat shared words of encouragement and inspiration for the Corps of Cadets.

During the Turnover of Command, Sgt Persival C Pombo, Outgoing Corps Commander of OCROTCU, delivered his farewell message emphasizing that
"The standard of a great leader is not the heights they reach, but the ground they build for others to stand on."

The ceremony also highlighted the formal assumption of command by the new Cadet Corps Commander, C/LTC SAM CATABUI 1CL, who delivered his inspirational message: "The best leaders don't just clear a path they teach others how to build their own." He officially took over the duties and responsibilities of the highest position in the Corps of Cadets.

The newly designated Corps Commander formally took the Oath of Office a solemn pledge to execute the demands of command with unwavering loyalty, integrity, and selfless dedication.

After that PFC Deanna Lynn D. Florentino (Inf) PA the first lecturer, emphasized that ROTC builds purpose driven leaders by instilling pride through military uniforms and discipline through a strict grading and demerit system.

WHAT: FIRST TRAINING DAY JOINT ASSUMPTION OF COMMAND OF NEW CORPS COMMANDER, OATH TAKING OF NEW ROTC TRAINING STAFF AND OPENING OF BASIC ROTC TRAINING MILITARY SCIENCE 1 (MS-1) CEREMONY

WHEN: 150600 AUGUST 2026

WHO: Military Science 1 Cadets

ATTIRE:
MS-1 Cadets- Type C
Military Personnel - Bush Coat/Philarpat
Corps of Cadets - Philarpat/Philarpat

1. Be on time.
2. Male Cadets are prescribed to have a neatly groomed haircut and clean-shaven beard/mustache.
3. Female Cadettes must have neatly groomed hair. Cadettes with short hair must wear gel and a hairpin, while those with long hair must tie their hair back.
4. Avoid wearing excessive facial makeup.
5. The use of nail paint and nail art is not allowed. Maintain the cleanliness of your fingernails by neatly trimming them.
6. Jewelry, earrings, and body piercing are prohibited.
7. Observe proper bearing and decorum.
8. Bring extra money, lunch and snacks

4. Female cadets must have neatly groomed hair. Cadets with short hair must apply hair gel and use a hairpin, while those with long hair must tie their hair back properly.

5. Avoid wearing excessive facial makeup.

6. The use of nail polish and nail art is strictly prohibited. Fingernails must be clean and neatly trimmed.

7. Jewelry, earrings, and body piercings are prohibited.

8. Bring a tickler, blue ballpen, and white handkerchief.
