DSWD holds knowledge-sharing sessions with Selangor Disability Foundation

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) holds knowledge-sharing sessions with officials of the Selangor Disability Foundation (YANIS) on Wednesday (August 12) at the Katapatan Board Room of the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City.

Leading the DSWD team, Undersecretary Denise Florence Bernos-Bragas of the Regulatory Services and Institutional Development Group (RSIDG) said the session provides an opportunity to explore potential collaboration with YANIS and the Selangor State Government in strengthening the delivery of inclusive services and community-based support programs for persons with disabilities and their families.

Joining the knowledge-sharing session are YANIS Chief Executive Officer Ar. Kamarul Hisham; Department of Education, Empowerment and Social Mobility Senior Manager Mohd Shaiful Roseman; YANIS Assistant Nadhira Mohd Nasir; Assistant Secretary Janet Armas of the RSIDG, DSWD Academy Assistant Bureau Director Precilia Docuyanan; and representatives from the DSWD’s Protective Services Bureau (PSB), Social Technology Bureau (STB), and Standards Bureau (SB). DSWD SFP, binigyang halaga ang masigla at malulusog na batang benepisyaryo

South Cotabato — Isinagawa ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, katuwang ang Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) Central Office personnel, ang monitoring sa National Child Development Center sa Surallah at Rural Child Development Center sa Sto. Niño, South Cotabato.

Sa isinagawang monitoring, nakita ang maayos na implementasyon ng programa at ang masigla at malulusog na mga batang benepisyaryo na patuloy na bahagi ng programang supplementary feeding.

Patuloy ang DSWD sa regular na monitoring upang matiyak ang maayos na pagpapatupad ng SFP at ang paghahatid ng ligtas, masustansiya, at dekalidad na pagkain para sa mga batang benepisyaryo hakbang tungo sa mas malusog at mas masaganang kinabukasan.

DSWD Central and field office conduct program monitoring in Malungon
Malungon, Sarangani Province — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Office, together with the DSWD Field Office XII, conducted program monitoring activities in Malungon, Sarangani Province to assess the implementation of the Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC).

The activity aimed to monitor the actual implementation of the program, ensure compliance with existing policies and guidelines, assess the delivery of services to beneficiaries, and identify areas for improvement to further strengthen program implementation at the local level.

The monitoring team also observed the conduct of payout activities and field-level processes, providing an opportunity to engage with program implementers and local partners and gather insights on the challenges and good practices in delivering social pension services to senior citizens.
The DSWD Central Office delegation was composed of Carl De Guzman, PDO III, and Joyce Ann Santiago, PDO II. They were joined by Nanig C. Sanoy, PSD Chief; Lyhra P. Dee, SPISC Focal Person for Region XII; provincial team leaders; and Social Pension Program staff of DSWD Field Office XII.

Through regular program monitoring, DSWD continues to strengthen its commitment to ensuring that social protection services reach qualified senior citizens efficiently, transparently, and with utmost care.

DSWD SFP, tiniyak ang kalinisan, kaligtasan at maayos na implementasyon ng Child Development Centers

Koronadal City, South Cotabato— Tiniyak ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, katuwang ang kinatawan ng Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) Central Office, ang pagsunod sa pamantayan sa kalinisan, kaligtasan, at maayos na paghahanda ng pagkain at pagpapatupad ng programa sa San Lorenzo Ruiz Child Development Center (CDC) sa Koronadal City.

Sa isinagawang monitoring, nakita ang maayos at malinis na kondisyon ng pasilidad, kabilang ang lugar na ginagamit sa paghahanda ng pagkain. Naobserbahan din ang aktibong pakikilahok ng mga magulang at mga namamahala sa CDC sa pagpapanatili ng kalinisan at maayos na paghahanda ng pagkain para sa mga batang benepisyaryo.

Patuloy ang DSWD sa regular na monitoring ng mga CDC upang matiyak ang maayos na implementasyon ng SFP at ang paghahatid ng ligtas, masustansiya, at angkop na pagkain para sa mga batang benepisyaryo, bilang bahagi ng pagsusulong sa kanilang kalusugan, nutrisyon, at kapakanan.

DSWD Caps Off 2026 Government Internship Program; Inspires Youth toward Civil Service Careers

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Protective Services Bureau (PSB), successfully concluded the Government Internship Program (GIP) Culmination Activity 2026 with the theme, "Empowering Youth through Public Service, Shaping the Leaders of Tomorrow," held on Wednesday (August 5) at the DSWD Central Office, Quezon City.

A total of 189 GIP interns from 40 schools completed their internship after being assigned to 38 Offices, Bureaus, Services, and Units (OBSUs) across the Department.

During their internship, the young interns supported daily office operations while gaining exposure to the Department’s core functions. At the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB), they learned about the national supply chain system for disaster response, observed the Mechanized Production System for family food packs (FFPs), and gained insight into resource management during emergencies.

They also underwent an immersion at Nayon ng Kabataan, where they assisted in client care, recreational and educational activities, and administrative tasks under the supervision of licensed social workers and house parents. Capacity-building activities and learning sessions were also conducted to strengthen their knowledge and skills in social welfare and development work.

The event was attended by Protective Programs officials including Asst. Secretary Ada Colico, Asst. Bureau Director Irish Opeña, Bureau Director Alfrey Gulla, and selected DSWD supervisors who guided and supported the interns throughout their internship.

The activity marked the completion of the interns’ journey in the GIP and encouraged them to carry the values and lessons they learned as they move forward in their studies and future careers.

DSWD Social Pension Program pays courtesy visit to Malungon officials ahead of field monitoring

Malungon, Sarangani Province – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Social Pension Program for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC), together with representatives from the DSWD Central Office and Field Office XII, paid a courtesy visit to Malungon Vice Mayor Atty. Maria Theresa Constantino in connection with the ongoing field monitoring of the Social Pension Program in the municipality.

The courtesy visit forms part of the DSWD’s coordination efforts with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malungon prior to the conduct of field monitoring activities, including the witnessing of the third-quarter Social Pension payout and the actual Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) validation of potential beneficiaries.

The monitoring aims to ensure that the implementation of the program remains compliant with existing guidelines and that qualified indigent senior citizens are properly identified and provided with the assistance intended for them.

Sa halip na gugulin ang mga oras pagkatapos ng klase sa paglalaro kasama ang mga kaibigan, araw-araw siyang tumutulong sa kanyang ina sa pagtitinda ng gulay sa Purok 3-A, Barangay Capungagan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

Sa loob ng maraming taon, tahimik na kinimkim ni Melbe, 44 taong gulang at isang solo parent mula sa Purok Mauswagon, Barangay Cuambog, Mabini, Davao de Oro, ang sakit at takot na dulot ng pang-aabusong pisikal at emosyonal mula sa kanyang dating kinakasama.

Bilang ina ng limang anak, hindi naging madali ang kanyang mga naging pasya. Sa bawat sugat na kanyang tinamo at bawat gabing puno ng pangamba, mas nangingibabaw ang kanyang pagnanais na matiyak na may pagkain sa hapag ang kanyang mga anak.
